True. But we can’t just keep adding and adding without anyone moving on. I guess the COD situation makes it tricky at the moment.

Well he's got 2 years left on him contract, unless someone comes in for him could be hard moving him on

Pato uptop? played some of our best football with him uptop with Reid

If we go from ‘bringing in a proven number nine’ to Pato being our striker within 24 hours then god help us!

We really, desperately need some quality up top and for me that means a natural finisher.

But what choice on the left wing? Given Eliasson often plays RW if Weimann is playing upfront.

The thing about Eliasson.

To what extent can he come inside and rotate- he's a fine player but to what extent does he fit the style? Not talking technically and he's clearly better than Diedhiou in terms of an easy fit with the style, but I wonder if it gives us options or makes us a bit lopsided- the fact he puts in quite a lot of crosses, is he a more traditional winger or a modern one?

I still think LJ has a bit of a split of style in how he wants us to play.

I think we need to stay cool on Szmodics...he's a young'un jumping up two divisions. He's done well in pre-season, but against lower opposition.

Can't rely on him to be a hit from day one and stay consistent all-season.

The management team like KP's versatility, he can play all across the front line don't forget...

SUpporters page say there’s another signing. isn’t it Clarke from Brighton?

I wish my wife looked like that! I suppose she did at some time pre kids but certainly doesn't anymore. :(

Think we like him on the right as he can cut in and get a shot off, from what I've seen he more does curling shots than bullet's like Bryan which you need on the left with a left footed shot to beat the keeper.

Think it's a great deal in that case. I think KP can and will improve a lot over the next two or three seasons.

Agreed. It’ll be interesting to see how him and Szmodics can be fit into the same team as I can’t see Palmer coming here to be a bit part player.

Medical permitting, but he did only pass one with us in January 💁‍♂️

How much kid? And what do you feel about this signing and will he get more game time?

Palmer is the same age as Taylor Moore and younger than O’Dowda and Brownhill. It’s a fantastic coup to get him on a permanent with his best years ahead of him.

Welcome back family heartbreaker.

Kasey Palmer makes me feel a lot better about top 6. A goal scorer makes me feel good about top 2.

@Kid in the Riot sky reporting loan. Is it possible you can clarify loan or permanent?

They’re not I don’t think, they’re saying it was after a loan

Well if we announce KP and Eddie N from Arsenal then the place could go into meltdown

Need a classy replacement for Webster in my view. Don’t have confidence in Baker or Wright.

If we get that classy replacement CB, Palmer and a ‘proven 9’ then I might be optimistic for the season.

Still would like another midfielder though in the defensive role.

They're definitely saying it's a loan...

PALMER IN MEDICAL

We understand Kasey Palmer is undergoing a medical at Bristol City today ahead of a loan from Chelsea.

Good signing if it all goes through but Lee play him regularly please.

He has to play. Palmer, Weimann and Pato/COD/Eliasson to start behind Fam for me. More goals I feel in there than last season

It can be read both ways I guess, as he was on loan previously so it was ahead also 🤷‍♂️

Will this signing enable Matty Taylor to get his move tied up ?

Think he will end up at Millwall or Charlton by the end of the window

Have a feeling that getting Palmer in permanently will make a bigger positive difference to the team in the long term, than the negative impact losing Webster will.

********* City

Have a load of trees and bushes that need cutting and was meant to do it Monday

Popped on OTIB this morning to see the latest , and 3 days in and still trees and bushes remain in uncut condition

And still 7 days and about 6/7/8  ins n outs to keep an eye out for

:laughcont:

And The Ashes start tomorrow - there’s a crisis looming !

Be very disappointed if it’s another loan. He need to find somewhere to settle and the more of our squad that’s settled the better.

I’d assumed permanent based on the South Wales press saying the stumbling block to Swansea was that the player wanted a permanent move.
