Its always been setup this way from day one of its creation. It’s to encourage people to sign up and contribute to forum.

I don’t see how that works if casual visitors can’t see it exists.

@Leveller I am happy to be corrected by the forum overlord that is @TomF but I thought we made certain sub forums read only in more recent years.
