Flag day has been going since 96?? It hasn't early 2000's and the idea really started with Forza EE 2007 onwards then wtms. Section 82 used to be nothing to do with it because they made it clear they didnt want to be.

I am absolutely none the wiser reading this.

@Bristol Rob What is known Flag day really started in 2007 with the opening of the EE and the Forza Eastend website which later became WTMS (When the Moon Shines). Before that it was an end of season picture with the old Pride of Bristol flag. Without Forza EE and CH etc there would be no flag day. Section 82 have been asked to help out several times but in the past were not keen on it.

Cheers for clarifying, was a bit confused.

So are WTMS still an active group, and what happened to the yellow submariners?

Finished now. When the EE went WTMS did a few more things like the Lions mural but that was more or less the end. A few ideas to make the Dolman corner more interesting were run past the club but not allowed as it was outside the official S82 singing section.

That was just a group of us that used to travel to away games together, and it grew from there.

We still meet up for drinks etc, but haven't organised an away trip since Shrewsbury away a few years back

Then those 'kids' should go and organise their own Flag Day at a different venue.....and not tag along to the Three Lions event.

I would have thought young lads at what is a annual lads (?) event would be encouraged. Fair play to them. Too many turn their backs on their local clubs.

It was never the clubs flag day and for a number of years they never wanted to be associated with the event and not a want of trying or asking..

It was hard enough getting the east end open and putting flags in there let alone getting the club involved with a local publicans flag event..

I suppose Devon is quite local. Will be interesting to see what they charge at the ground.
