They are bitter as they stood by Johnson whilst on an 8 game losing streak (sound familiar?), they then improved climbing the table and got to the paint pot final at wembley.

Then he left.

In their eyes they stood by him during the bad and he legged it as soon as it started to get slightly good.

To make matters worse they then had the guy they lauded as the brains behind the promotion (despite heckingbottom insisting it was a lot to do with Johnson) jumping ship to leeds.

To be fair id be pretty ******* bitter too!

I would add that when he was invited to the play off final he openly said he was on a scouting mission ?

I personally quite like the set up Barnsley has they never spend more than two seasons in league 1 and keep making large profits on players.

It didn’t look that bad, 1 or 2 saying where are we getting money from, but most recognise we’ve sold a lot and following a model which they are hoping to emulate.

Absolutely, very balanced i'd say with some sensible informed comments from a number of their posters.

They have a small window to have a crack at realising it IMO.

Get them to the PL within 2-3 years- utilising the maximum loss limits with equity etc and perhaps take advantage of clubs hamstrung by FFP- if they make the PL again they can sell at an almost certain profit

Otherwise it's slow and organic growth at best. The advantage of Barnsley- as it stands- from an investment POV was low cost of purchase, low debt at time of purchase and big profit from 2016/17 which would've given big leeway FFP wise had they brought in say August 2017 and pretty low running costs.

The other window of opportunity is they've always well anyway recently had a pretty good academy- holding onto them if running costs kept low in other areas becomes a lot easier with Chinese investment.

Integrated Services Digital Network

Basically an early version of a 'high speed' connection, commonly used by broadcasters etc.

It was a 64kb (yes kb not mb!) service that had 2 channels so they could be paired to give a maximum speed of 128kb.

But can you still watch porn at 128kb?

Aint what your owner has, its how much is spent that counts.

Not knocking our owner of course, but stated wealth is pretty meaningless by itself.

It's not how much you spend.

It's how well you spend it that counts.

SL could spend every last penny he has on players (ignoring FFP). If they're crap then they won't help us.

Big price ≠ good signing.

That list MUST be wrong - I can't see any mention of the Gas anywhere :)

They're 932nd richest. That puts them in the 5th division of the Downs League. Sorry any Downs League players out there. What? There's only 4 divisions? Unlucky Da Gas.

the typing pool at BAC back in the 80's only had a 2k connection (not called a service back then) @Rudolf Hucker will explain to younger viewers what a typing pool was for.

I'm hoping I'm not the only one who, after your explanation, is still none the wiser !

Typing pools were intimidating places in the 70’s where young men entered at their peril. They entered as innocents and invariably left crushed and broken but in between it was the most titillating place in the world.

I only ever remember ladies working in the typing pool, but then I would. However I never had any idea what they did.
