Just wondering why Jay Dasilva is given the JDS tag and not just JD?

His surname is one word. Two syllables maybe.

Stops confusion with the drink commonly mixed with coke. Foul stuff. Give me a single malt any day!

A poster after my own heart! I’ve mentioned this several times ... his initials are JD - soooo many just can’t get their heads round it, yet it’s sooooo simple ...

Whilst we’re at it, can we start spelling Adelakun correctly please.

Then again, what hope do you have when even the official account can’t get it right.

Perhaps it’s been spelt Lukan because he was missing much of last season? ?

Does it matter?

Whilst JD may be correct, nobody is going to be super confused if JDS was used instead.

Who are you talking about..? Jay Dasilva and who..? I’m confused.

The whole point of this thread is that it's not.

Of course it matters to Jay as his name identifies him.

His full name is Jay Rhys Dasilva. Thus JRD would be acceptable.

The name Silva is of Portuguese origin with the feminine of the prefix de, which is da. It means "of the" and the name Dasilva is clearly a corruption of da Silva. As only the first letter of the name needs capitalization, the name is written as Dasilva.

Thus it is only common courtesy to initialize his name as JRD.

That would be more confusing than JS, JDS and JDs.

Unless we start using everyone's middle names... and learn them.
