Thrown over the seg line in the atyeo toward derby fans. Not arrested but ejected and that it how we are dealing with it in view of the circumstances.

Very common all over matches throwing a missile, paperplanes, pasties , even I am told snakes ?

dependant upon the circumstances depends upon the action taken by either club or police ( ifvwitnessed by us)

That makes a little more sense in that context.

Pasties, at the prices they charge. That’s madness.

I assume you mean rubber snakes rather than live snakes? I expect Snakes will be out in force on Saturday at the mem

Good news!

With that step in the right direction, a bit of a reduction in policing or police regulations would be commensurate with this.

Not if the policing & regs are causative of the drop...

Does the EPL have the lowest amount of arrests, because individuals fear jeopardising something (their season ticket) that costs a heck of a lot, or, do richer people just brawl less, or, do the gendarmes just see poorer people as an easier catch...

Yeah true, good point.

I'm thinking that some of the regs are definitely long overdue revisiting, some of the football specific legislation- I did read further down the article when looking at it again that new football banning orders in force increased by 19% during 2018/19 as compared to the previous season.

I'm always intrigued what the ratio of arrests to people actually being found guilty of the offence are?

I see their letting both sets of fans out at same time , madness it only takes one idiot to let off and it can all go up -can you please give me reasons behind this ,I thought policing was to control or prevent not inflame

Yes, absolutely mad after what happened last season. Something to do with human rights according to Julie on the other thread.

Last season they weren't even allowed in at the same time!

Post truth a bit here?

The police or at least the response of a Deputy Chief Constable to a fall in arrests is to call for more money from clubs.

https://www.thisismoney.co.uk/wires/pa/article-7482473/Deputy-Chief-Constable-calls-clubs-increase-spend-matchday-policing.html

Night is day, day is night?

Edit- just looked at name and title in full. DCC Mark Roberts, who is the National Police Chief's Council football policing lead.

It's an interesting debate and doubtless pros and cons on both sides of the argument, but thought that was a curious response.

They're just being an irritant/inconvenience. There's no need for it.

Can you seriously not see how blocking one entrance to somewhere manages the flow of people?

If you found it irritating or an inconveniencing then blame the idiots who kicked off in the park that mean the police need to do things like this. Pretty sure the police didn’t wake up this morning and say ‘how can we irritate Chris_Brown today?’

Honestly thought it was policed well today, a lot of Swansea on my train to parson Street police at the top of the steps seperate them from us with no issues, taking them to the ground in an escort about 15 mins later, all very carm and we'll done, looks like they learnt from last season mess,

Plenty of sirens and rushing about as I left Bower Ashton and headed up towards Temple Meads but it all seemed reasonably friendly around and about.

I did have a small smile to myself as I waited at the lights by the Peugeot Garage when the away fans escort came walking up. There was two vans and around 10 to 15 police escorting approximately 20 to 30 Swansea fans. Every policeman / woman was engaged in conversation with one or two fans. It looked like a friendly walk out in the countryside.

Spanish inquisition for me over by coronation road.

Walked there to meet my 81 yr old father whilst we waited for a lift.

Questioned by PC Plod if i was Swansea or City ( whilst wearing my city shirt). ?

Told him not to be so jumpy and looking for something that isnt there!!

Sorry about this, not all pc plods today were from Avon and Somerset so unfortunately can't rely on local knowledge to spot the shirt.

Nice to see we were out the vans chatting to fans ?

Thank you very much, exactly how policing at football  should be , I will ensure it gets fed back in .

I thought some of those overweight taffs giving it the big un ‘Come On’ from the back of a pretty empty block close to the Dolman

and 30m from the Atyeo / Dolman divide and Stewars , Police etc etc were really really scary !

Truly laughable  ?

Police seemed to have done a good job and had it all buttoned up nicely today  (* Edit - Maybe not - See Robin Woods post below !)
