Seems like Eliasson has been on fire in preseason. Set up 2 goals today, looked superb in clips of training. His potential is ridiculous. Desperately need him to sign a new deal. He can be a huge player for us this season.

It's not just his crossing ability, but his consistency at getting in those quality balls, and his ability to always get balls in - which is not easy.

It looks like he has put on a bit of muscle now. And will hopefully keep developing physically. Needs to come inside and score more as he could potentially score a lot imo.

Here's another one (his third assist?)

And have absolutely no attacking threat from full back? Yeah ok....

This is the part of his game he'll have to improve on, for sure. But his cross to Famara at Wimbledon was a peach so he has it in him to be an attacking threat. If he can be consistently productive in the attacking third, as well as defend solidly, he has every chance of becoming our first choice Right Back.

They've all put on muscle. Honestly all of them are stacked now. Webster has put on 16% muscle mass since he joined us. Brownhill gained 14% over the past year. Opi Edwards has gone from a tiny little lad to a stocky terror on the wing. Gilmartin is an absolute mountain of a man. We are a big, heavy team.

Those stats as said by LJ at the open training session.

And possibly very close to what LJ thinks, at this stage, may be his starting eleven against Leeds: the inclusion of Vyner is interesting.

Indeed, https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/very-close-to-our-starting-xi-for-leeds-that-plenty-of-bristol-city-fans-react-as-teams-announced-for-pre-season-clash/

Interesting that Moore has the armband.

I thought OTIB had already written him off?

moore captain interesting ( i know its a meaningless friendly but more experienced players on pitch)

Length of service/experience isn't a qualification in most professions.

I'm not sure he will ever be brilliant going forward from full back, as he is naturally a centre back.

But if he has someone brilliant ahead of him like Eliasson, then really all he has to do is work hard, go on the overlap just as a decoy to create space.

Do the basics well which he can do as he is good on the ball. And he is a good crosser like you say. Rotherham fans said he whips in a great cross.

Interesting. That's the main thing that changes everything for a young player is what they are like when they are physically developed.

Imagine Eliasson being able to cut inside and hold players off whilst trying to get a shot on goal. If that side of his game keeps developing then he could be better than I think any of us can imagine.

Do you have the %age  figures for Taylor Moore?

He looked absolutely huge in one of the tour photos.

Wasn't mentioned. But yes he's a big lad up close. Looks like he's naturally a little less lean than someone like Brownhill or Paterson, but he's a solid unit. As an aside he did pretty well at LB in the rained off game v Derby.

I think for many of them it is a result of not only hours in the gym but also that natural maturing you go through in your early 20s.

no of course not, but then do you suggest he is ahead of Baker in the pecking order at centre half? Maybe he is, but you have to admit seems a slightly odd choice at face value

I would say that Watkins and Taylor will be off then

I said this after the last friendly and no one else seemed to agree! Pretty strong evidence that they don't even get on the pitch when they can play as many as they want.

I really like Taylor AND Watkins, as they both try their hardest. But both not good enough for where we want to be imo.

A surprising choice, yes. But maybe he is thought to be the most natural leader of those taking to the pitch.

Did LJ mention stats for Walsh?

No he did not. Sorry he only mentioned Webster and Brownhill specifically. He was just saying that he's very happy with where the players are physically. He specifically called us a "heavy" team and then gave those two players as examples.

To be fair otib did a thorough research of Moore's progress to come to that conclusion - They saw him play badly a few times  a few years back when he was about 19-20, mainly playing out of position at right back. What he has done since then is irrelevant!
