No , wasnt it Jack Stephens

Thompdon was never far away from anything and a complete **** at the end though

He was aggressive when I saw him for Pompey - he’s that sort of player

Could do a lot worse as back up RB , but I don’t know what that says / means for Vyner

Wow that's a turn up for the books chaps if it's true!

What’s your opinion on him as a player ST ?

Right back ?

Emergency Centre half ?

A decent committed right back, can drop into midfield a little like Elliot used to but too small for a centre half although he did play there a few times for us but often got caught out. I,can remember Luke Williams always rated him so there's the connection

I'm not sure who your regular right back is but he wouldn't let you down and is a good player but his strengths wouldn't be running down the wing and getting crosses in he's  more of a terrier type and as you know he's very passionate and would thrive off the fans if they got behind him

Thanks

Not too dissimilar to Hunt who has the RB spot

Your description , one I sort of expected - - he’d be here as back up / compete for RB and my hunch was , on a free a reasonable acquisition but you’ve seen far more of him than any of us

Thanks

At league one he was a class act for us if a little injury prone but he played over 30 games for pompey last season so I'm a little surprised he's been released (If true) He's never been a shirker and gives everything he's got on the pitch and with Williams being his old coach he must have trust in him that he could play in the championship

That was Brando

Well if he’s available we better make him an offer he can’t refuse..,

Thompson - to be honest, I like passion in players. He didn’t do it because it was us, but because @Shaun Taylor said, looks like he feeds off the fans. I’m not calling it a Holloway situation, I’m calling it a Matty Taylor situation where the guy clearly has passion and is liked by his clubs fans for that reason.

I don’t have any objections to the signing if thought right - cheap backup to Hunt and a similar player who’s played top end L1 up to now. Not delighted, not gutted, just see the logic if it allows funds to be better used elsewhere

Haven’t checked but think he may be OOC and read in somebody else’s post that  Pompey went prepared to offer what he wanted

His younger brother Louis is at Norwich and missed the 2017/18 season through injury and only played six times last season so I don't think us or you would want him!

Someone may have mentioned this already, but didn't Thompson get himself banned for the game at AG that season?

To be fair, always thought he was decent enough and he would win the fans over quickly enough if he gets stuck in and gives be badge a thump now and then

Seems an odd one though, RB I would think is a position we've got plenty of cover for

Todd Kane would have been a good signing could compete for RB and central midfield

Been saying that for a long time mate. Just don’t see why we’ve let a very decent specialist right back go if we’re not clearing a pathway for a younger player.

When Murray ran down the whole side of ninian park tapping his head as he went along after scoring was he in the wrong

Or to put it another way there's always players on the oppo team (like on ours I'm sure) who are annoyingly niggly so and so's. Some of them are also good. Let's hope he's one of them.
