OTIB Meltdown:

Is anyone surprised we lost today ???......I thought not. Always lose to Leeds at home and away and play shit. Judge us on next 45. Badly need a striker though.

It is very frustrating. We always seem to save our worst performances for them.

We were actually 2-0 up at Elland Road a couple of seasons ago when Leeds were dogshit, yet we still let them back in to draw 2-2 😡

Yes, tongue in cheek. We're all experts on paper (or on this forum at least) and it always amuses me how everyone is so sure of the positions we need to strengthen.

We are definitely short of a few players and I'm not certain that this lad from Monaco will be the answer. But I am absolutely certain that we have a striker incoming before Thursday. The OTIB meltdown will once again be a thing of the past.

Yes and why are they spending a reported 8 mil on a 18 year mid fielder who has never played in England, when we need a proven goal scorer. I thought the policy was that a 18 year old was one for the future!

I don’t think the two necessarily connect. If we were buying an 18 year old midfielder instead of a striker I would agree but it sounds like we’re after a few players. I don’t know a lot about Massengo but, if he is good enough, then I don’t care how old he is.

Must think he’s half decent or something?

He may well be, but the Championship is a tough and hard league and is this lad ready for that, I really don't think so.

I doubt any of us know much about him so how can we tell? Tammy was 18 when he joined us and he did alright so I don’t think age alone definitively answers that question...

Leeds were top class - still, one home win since February 12th is a bit concerning - and, yes, this is a bit tongue in cheek - I’ve never really seen the point of stats overlapping differing seasons ... but even so ....

What we need is a manager who knows how to pick a team.had all summer to sign new players and we only had one new player involved in today's game.i know it's only the first game but Johnson has not got a clue.

Told all my mates who like a little dabble to lump on Leeds today

The performance last weekend, the Webster sale, the fact we're at home all added up to make today a write off

Leeds were fantastic, we were poor. It's one game. Big couple of days coming up, can't be any excuses with the money that has been / will be spent now. This is absolutely LJ's squad now

I'm fully behind the bloke, not a moan, but a hell of a lot of pressure on the man now

And the home games are just so boring to watch (from our perspective). After 60 minutes I just sat there and thought, I know what's coming, I've seen it so many times, what else could I do with the next 30 minutes of my life? So predictable lumping it forward to the lone ranger, what a waste of time. The Leeds fans must be laughing their heads off, every time we play them it's the same, utterly embarrassing.

Whoever we sign this week, please, please inject some excitement into the home games.

Totally agree - we’ve been bored at home since October 2018 ...

In saying that, and I'm not disagreeing with you, Patto seemed to brighten things up a bit when he came on.

As for Pack and Diedhiou well that's another matter.  A spell on Weston beach giving rides to the kiddies might seem the most appropriate solution for them.

Dont get the Pack comments, probably from non footballers ...

Pack looked like a non-footballer when he passed straight to the Leeds player. Either that or colour blind.

My plan is,

We agree with ref and opposing team that we start the game 3 goals down.

Lee then instantly makes 3 panic substitutions and throws on 3 players that care and will show effort and enthusiasm ........   GAME ON!!!!!

Who would he play instead of Diedhiou? Taylor?

Both Weimann & Taylor are much more mobile alternatives.  Andi Weimann's movement yesterday was excellent, but again often ignored.  In fact, I think he could be our best player if played in the middle and our midfielders were more aware of the potentially defence splitting runs he makes.

If the answer is to play Taylor up front then relegation is more likely than playoffs. The guy is not championship standard

I blame the pre season. Many of that team did not look very fit, nor match sharp. 2 yards off the pace.

Seems like they have not been the same since the USA trip.

Mind you some of them were never the same before the USA trip!

The trouble is, some of the undroppables are undroppable because there are no alternatives in place.
