Bobby Reid - Gone to Fulham on Loan

Recommended Posts

I generally agree with the "never go back" thought, however, there have been exceptions such as messrs Murray, Ritchie and Garland.

If Bobby has the genuine appetite to play for us, why not?

I bet they still owe us £5m  - write it off and have him back. I know we were close to getting him on loan in Jan and then the Salah tragedy happened

Wow, that is a surprise 😮

Him and Fam linked up well together in that one season they had together, possibly the best football we've seen at the gate in decades that season. Arguably with a better supply line behind them both now this could work out very well.

I'm 75/25 in favour

“Still 0-0 here at Ashton Gate, 93rd minute. Bristol City on the ball with Eliasson, he plays a through ball in to Reid, Bobby has beaten flint for pace as the 6ft 6 man falls to the floor trying to turn around, Reid’s through on goal, OH AND HE’S SCORED, UNBELIEVABLE SCENES. FANS ARE FALLING OVER THE ADVERTISING BOARD AS REID PATS HIS HEAD IN FRONT OF THE AWAY END. Neil Warnock's on his knees. You just love to see it”

It’s a yes from me.

If this is true then i’d be beyond staggered. Wishful thinking in the extreme. Wouldn’t even be a rumour if EN was on.

Be good if it was mind. Like me being a billionaire / being 6-2 and 20 years younger etc.

It's not 'wishful thinking' - it's a rumour. It's been tweeted by a journalist who specialises on transfers.

No, it may not be a rumour of EN was still on. But things change quickly (as we've seen today). The tweet says this transfer is the result of a knock-on from Cardiff signing Vassell - so may have not even been possible before today.

I think I'm in the minority when I say Palmer just isn't all that good. Far too inconsistent.

To be fair I didn't think we needed him but has the attributes to be a real top player in the championship. With someone like Reid in front of him might do him good

LJ always said he was a £5m player...never thought we would be paying it though!!

Cardiff. Poss exit for Reid with Vassell arrival. Bristol City keeping an eye on that one. May not be alone

What does "keeping an eye on that one" actually mean here? Is this even a rumour?!

So he played in a new position/new role with us for one season in the Championship and smashed it, and your not convinced he can do it again?

If your logic is based on his last season with Cardiff, that you don't think he can do it again then i disagree. They're not comparable.

I'd have him back in a shot. LJ clearly knows how to use/get the best out of him.

Let's put it this way - I very much doubt he is/would be as good as Nketiah or Dwight Gayle.

I’d have him back in a shot, he’s the player we missed the most last season imo.

Ive seen loads of people mentioning the head tapping thing as a reason not to like him, why’s that? What do you think it means? It’s just something they ask every new signing to do, it’s not a personal insult aimed at Bristol City or any other club.

As I said on the Nketiah topic, I was walking my dog in Headley park earlier and seen bobby Reid get out his car and enter a house, didn’t take a pic cause it would of been weird!

obv being from Bristol there’s many reasons he may have been visiting someone.

Huge energy mate!

I take it you're still camped outside the house?

Wait there, I'll be along shortly with some Pringles and a 4-pack of Natch.

He's had one good season as a striker. I'm not convinced he can do it again.

So you want a proven striker at this level but one who is proven for more than one season....okay. Love to hear who you want

And Carey. Pritchard also springs to mind an awl.

We had him lined up in Jan for a loan so clearly going to be keeping tabs

Dwight Gayle. Or Nketiah as he's clearly got a huge future ahead of him

Pay £10m definitely

Yes but I don’t believe Cardiff will sell him, from what I’ve heard from a Cardiff fan it all revolves around Warnock being annoyed with Bobbys booking in the last game. Can’t imagine Warnock being that annoyed that he would sell a player when he started him in the last game. I reckon this deal is a non starter but I really hope it’s true. Realistically, we would have to be upwards of 12 million IF he was for sale.

The more I think about this the more I think it could be what we need.

I am a whole lot less concerned about a new center back than I am a forward and to be frank I would gave Reid before Gayle or Nketiah

If we spent £12million on Reid, I would despair

Well bloody hell, you didn't say that your original post and opinion was because you were comparing Reid to them.

In that case, using the same logic, i'm not convinced Nketiah and Gayle can do it here.......when comparing them to Neymar, Aguero and Mbappe!

If it's true what I've heard on here that Reid is worse than Weimann even though not one person managed to explain one single thing Weimann is better than Reid at on the football pitch, then it's a no from me...

While I would normally agree with those who say 'never go back' it's because it usually applies to those who've been away a long time and whose best years are behind them. That didn't apply to Garland or Murray, and neither to Bobby Reid. Provided cost is not prohibitive I'd be up for this.

 now you're being silly. I'm just saying that after the Nketiah disappointment, Reid wouldn't cut it for me - especially as I think Gayle is within our reach.

Yes, please, rather Bobby over Wells or most of the other plan b's mentioned so far

After all , we've been trying to sign his replacement ever since he left, there is no more perfect replacement for Bobby Reid than Bobby Reid.

Even if it was to be Nketiah or Reid, is one centre forward enough?

I know, it looks hard enough getting one in at the moment...

With every transfer there is some risk and the risk with Reid is, can he reproduce that season again with us?.   On a positive note, having both Reid and Weimann on the pitch together could cause havoc with their movement.
