I don’t get the love in for Weimann. He scored two thirds of his goals in 7 games. He also usually scored in a partnership. Imo not the answer up top on his own and neither is Fam for the record.

I get the reluctance for Reid but he can play up top on his own as well as a pairing. Think this offers us so many more options that even if he scored 12 I think we’d look more dangerous as a a unit. Also he is a top footballer and think he could form a real partnership with Palmer and they could feed off each other

You guys don’t have faith in a player you know that he could replicate that season but you’d be happy with a random foreign import?

And before you say you want a ‘proven championship striker’ so does everyone else, there aren’t any. Isn’t going to happen.

Because the manager, coaching staff and intelligent fans have zero faith that he’s good enough up front.

n most fans want him to play up front and when he does he scores goals, last season and so far this season has proven that,

I think the issue with most people is they DON'T know he could replicate that season.

Would love to see Bobby come home. Hopefully it would mean a return to when we had a distinctive style of play (high press, fast break etc.) which we seem to have lost over the last year.  He is the perfect player for that and with some of the new recruits behind him it could be even more effective now.

Loved bobby, no problem with his time at Badiff, but unless he is coming back cheap, I am not sure he is what we need. I think we have several players who can play the same roll, which is why I am so keen on EN, because we need pace

He doesn't have to, with a player like Reid up top Fam has  the ability to score 20, had he not been injured he's scoring rate would have seen him score more than Bobby, would be happy for Bobby to get 10 if he unlocks Fams ability.

If we’ve got this amazing player to play up front, why the overriding clamour to sign Nketiah? Or Reid? Or Vydra? Or Hogan? Or Hugill? Or Austin? Or Wells? Or Assombalonga? Or Gayle? Or is that he’s actually a bit crap?

As in it’s not going to happen? 😂

Certainly aren't! I genuinely had no idea he was that popular with them.

Exactly what I was about to say....very surprised at how highly they all appear to rate him.

So, by your logic, our lack of senior strikers means we need to sign a... youth player... and play a senior striker out wide?

Just can't see this happening at all for many reasons... Think it will be another case of a move on to the next...

Even though he was coming on loan in Jan?

So... Facts on the ground here...

January: unsubstantiated rumour that we tried to loan Bobby Reid

Yesterday: Peter O'Rourke claims 'a source' tells him we're interested in signing BR.

Yesterday: Gregor McFaceyface claims 'a source' told him earlier in the summer that BR would be keen on a return.

Too flimsy for me. Our interest needs to be corroborated.

Also tinman’s tweet though, would suggest two players are coming in today one with links to the academy

To be pernickety, it's not his goals. It's some tunnel moments from the Man U game. (And on Insta.)

Fair enough, just going by what was on here, and I probably got the wrong platform (twitter/instagram)

Based on what? I'd say it's far more plausible than Charlie Austin.

Biggest barrier to this in my opinion would be if Cardiff are happy to sell to a divisional rival or not.

Pete O'Rouke and Alan Nixon are pretty reliable sources as far as transfers go. Nixon is incredibly arrogant, so doesn't like being wrong. O'Rouke is perhaps the most respected mainstream national journalist on transfers (not including local specific club based ones).

Don't think it's flimsy at all really. Much better than random twitter accounts (supposedly run by agents) saying we're interested in player X or Y.

I don't think we can link Tinnion's tweet to BR at this stage, can we?

Yeah, Tinnion's tweet is interesting. I know it's easy to read into emojis and tweets, but to me that tweet suggested that today might be quite exciting for fans.

Not unsubstantiated - it was all arranged once Cardiff signed Salah... but then we sadly know what happened

MA and LK have a tight grip on social media activity so there's no way that tweet wasn't planned for and cleared. So, why two eye emojis - two players, why Tinman - youth link. Clear as day that Robert is returning today.

Oh okay. Has it been corroborated somewhere reliable?

That rumour actually came from here. @BS4 on Tour... was the source - he may be a stickler for correct spelling, grammar, dates, stats, names and pretty much all possible detail 😉 - but a reliable and trustworthy poster nonetheless.

I don't know about O'Rourke but the list of unreliable Nixon links over the years is ridiculous
