Clive Whittingham's usual excellent and funny Match Report

"Catching the eye in particular at number 42 was the visitors’ Han-Noah Massengo, an 18-year-old summer recruit from Monaco with hair like the toilet brush in the gents at a suburban Indian restaurant, feet like magic wands and a feel for this game belying his tender years and lack of senior appearances. What have City got themselves into there?"

Walsh was an 8 as well! Maybe that's a bit high given the error BUT he did score a great free kick, got an assist and seems like he was lively, good on the ball etc. 7?

Walsh is a funny one, I thought he was both great in parts, and terrible so difficult to work out a rating.
8 is definitely too high, but I do think it's more difficult to mark opponents than your own because you don't necessary know who is who when off the ball etc.

Glad to see he thought the penalty was a ridiculous decision too..

Very insightful and funny. Don't agree with some of his marks for city players though. In particular Semenyo and Taylor Moore merited higher marks and Bailey wright should have been given a minus mark

One small inaccuracy was that Rowe was not a deadline day signing but otherwise very good and readable.

Look forward to another one next week

Talking of funny reports, this site is still going and I hope we feature on it again this year.

Have a look in the archive going back to when Tins was Manager, the match report is hilarious.

Yep amusing ramble!..........Glad he referred to the late Pen, Wells should have been yellow carded. Having watched it 2 or 3 times { ok the ref did not have that privilege} it is not even vaguely close to a penalty.  That Wells dive was rewarded with ultimately cup progress is a travesty.  Hope Portsmouth trounce them ?

Can't believe that site is still going! Makes me feel old...

My favourite City related report was from 2001:

That's great, I love the Tony Thorpe bit. The one I was referring too, there is a bit where Tinnion is taking Cotterill off despite the fact he is having a blinder and even the fourth official is querying his decision. I think Tin's is holding a tactics manual upside down. :)

Looking at the site again it does look like he has stopped making these in favour of twitter or facebook? The last report is May 2018, but he stopped before and restarted so who knows.
