redordead1
Watching Walsh’s superb effort last night got me thinking... What’s the best free kick you’ve seen a city player score?
TBW
Mickey Bell scoring two replicas of one another in the same game. Absolute consistency. or The Tinnion indirect chipped from a teammate, volley.
Robin Goch
Although it was indirect, for me it’s Tinnion’s where Beadle chipped it up for him against Cambridge in early 00’s.
Red Homer
It was disallowed, but Tinman's free kick against Charlton in the FA Cup tie (1994) was sublime.
HanwellRed
Tomlin's winner vs Fulham in March 2016 was pretty special......
Red Army 75
Michael Mcindoe’s against palace. Wasn’t the best I’ve seen but for celebration was right up there . Amazing scenes
Port Said Red
One I remember very well was Jimmy Mann against Argyle on a Tuesday. My brother had come up from Plymouth and we were in the Old East End. Free kick 35 yards out, I turned to my brother and said “They haven’t put up a wall”, he said “It’s a long way out”. My reply of “But it’s Jimmy Mann” was followed by us almost celebrating before the ball even hit the net.
ColeCiderRed
Not a direct free kick, but, the Weasel at Palace in the 1st leg P/O at Selhurst was a great worked free kick.
elhombrecito
Tinnion versus Cambridge, where Beadle (I think) flicked it up to him.
devoncider
David Noble vs PNE the week before the semi vs palace. last league game of the season and we won 3-0 - noble freekick, trundle and possibly marvin? Yes we actually did used to beat Preston!
Offside
Alan Walsh scored a good one in the 1980s (home to Blackpool I think) - a ferocious strike that swerved around the defensive wall. Keeper didn’t even move.
Carey 6
Paul Hartley vs West Brom & this one was pretty clever.

Fjmcity
Also the mcindoe routine against palace was good for sheer drama, was on my way to the toilet and down at the front of the dolman top tier, got to go mad with people I didn’t know at all! Major Isewater
Norman Hunter in the old first division days . His boot came off with the power of his shot and the ball is still travelling. I hung out with it in Rajasthan drinking chai. ( That last bit was made up )

I remember one (West Ham?) when he hit the ball with such ferocity that it practically took the keeper into the net with it

Last minute winner in front of 4,000 away fans to kick start the survival charge? May not have been the greatest ever technical kick but yeh it was pretty special when it went in. Also saw Jimmy Mann score a few beauties also
The turtle
Don't get me wrong the free kick was beautifully struck. But, for me personally it's a goal keeping error, as with every other keeper who gets beat where the wall isn't (sometimes like Messi v Liverpool the wall is the wrong side but that's another story) As a keeper, you have one job. Do not get beat on your side of the goal. He failed that most basic task.
Loco Rojo
Best free kick I've seen on a New Years day with a shity hangover. Remember the grief the french keeper got as he walked down the tunnel in front of the Atyeo.
gavlin
Ernie Hunt's free kick in the 70's which was a repeat of the one he did on Match of the Day for Coventry.
