Any ideas??

Feel free to merge it into any thread you feel appropriate but this is a bit random/left field.

Banging on at the SLO about misogynistic discrimination- can't say I know what this individual is on about tbh but...

Maybe the allotment's not doing too well this year....

She could be a serial moaner I guess? Dunno their supporting history.

I'm sure people won't take a bit of notice. Song never registered to me as sexist or disgraceful etc. I've never read of complaints about it before.

Fair enough, political activist but I can't see that this chant is one that should be given a no to. Can the mods remove the pic and link however?

Only when, as I have heard several times , young boys about 9 or 10 singing it in front of their dads. doesn't sit well with me then.

Kaseys own son sings it all the time (He posted some nice videos of his lad who’s only  4 ish ? (Cute lad) in full City kit playing football with some young supporters , and singing the KP song

Luckily , as many his age he appears to only have learnt ‘Oh Kasey Palmer you are .... Before it becomes a toddler mumble

i picture the day he learns the rest and loudly makes his first rendition at a family wedding

Awkward :laughcont:

Love the song , but & Showing my age ( and thinking how hypocritical I am , after our chants in 70s 80s ) but , as it’s such a loud and popular chant , and can keep going , I do wonder how awkward it must be for some of our female supporters or some men there  with their wives besides all the difficulties when the kids want to sing it

Im not sure even a simple change of one word only couldn’t make it a whole lot more comfortable for many without taking anything from the song

Well, to be honest the Kasey Palmer chant does suggest that women (wives) are owned/controlled by their husbands. Or, that he should have the power to offer her services to other men (against her will) ?

Why on earth would a woman need permission to sleep with someone else than their husband, anyway?

Don't know her, but from her tweets she looks like a huge SJW who seems to find reason to complain about many things.

Many chants at football are near to the knuckle if you really dig deep, lots have themes about violence which are arguably far more problematic than the Palmer one.

These types of people are best ignored, but they'll always find a reason to complain about something.

So if I read it right, some bird wants to come to her first ever City game, and before she even sets foot in the turnstiles, she is telling us what we can and cant sing.

Her first game this season.

Lets be honest, in the cold light of day it can be seen as unpleasant and mydogynistic. Some blokes offer to hand their wives over  to a player as a gift.

But that’s the world of football chants.

Cold light of day perhaps, but these chants aren't exactly to be taken seriously or literally.

Fair enough she seems to be an activist but it just feels unnecessary here.

Then she would have most of last season to be offended then, in that case.
