bristolcitysweden
Great reading all the memories about papers. I was always up early Sunday morning to check Citys results. I always sat to the left in the two seater sofa. A bit older we could not wait and BBC Radio was not always reliable so we constantly called the papers for the result. COYR. Offside
Sad news. I remember getting his history of BCFC book for Christmas when I was a child. I loved that book. RIP Peter.
Sweeneys Penalties
RIP Peter. Was at St Brendans with one of your sons (Ian). I'm still very much in contact with Ian - a very pleasant family

RoystonFoote'snephew
Proper sports journalist who learnt his trade under the legend Ian Wooldridge and then passed it on to Richard Latham. Used to love his column in the Green 'Un. RIP Peter.

Sleepy1968
So sad. Was only thinking of him earlier this week whiIst was musing on the state of local sports reporting. Hopefully there will be a piece on the official site soon and an acknowledgement of his services to Bristol City at tomorrows game.
Big Nose
Never knew him but always read him in the Post and especially match reports in the Green un. Without knowing it he was a major influencer on my youth, and for that : thank you. RIP and condolences to family and friends.
southvillekiddy
R.I.P Peter. Proper writer. Represented the best of journalism when it meant something. An educated, erudite master of the type-written football article. Like someone else above, I remember his headlines "Atyeo answers his critics". Proper bloke. Condolences to his family. Red-Robbo
Nice tribute today I thought, even if the horrendous PA meant I could only hear 1/2 of it. Peter seemed to have been around forever and was still working until very recently, despite his advanced age. Always a decent and friendly guy when you encountered him. RIP

RIP I thought they were just doing the round up of fans that passed, shame I couldn’t hear it properly either.
