England summer cricket internationals

....and so the WC Begins.  England loose the toss and forced to bat first on a green tinged wicket.  Just another reason to hate Surrey - creating a wicket that’ll advantage the SA bowlers. Good work. Twats

They could create a pitch to suit England. Home advantage but obviously this is Surrey we’re talking about

See

England lost the toss and had they won it SA would batting right now.

Opening the bowling with a leg spinner with Roy notoriously suspect against spin was a brave call but getting Barstow's wicket was a surprise and a real bonus for them.

Why have we got the South African commentary instead of ours 😆

Because Smith and Pollock are former SA players and have a deep insight into the SA set up.

Whoever England are playing there’ll be  commentators from that particular country.

Every single England run is due to a South African mistake, I call it the Don Goodman effect..

You have to give some credit to the batsmen. It’s good play to make the most of any poor deliveries on offer.

Aren’t the pitches in the WC prepared to the specifications of the ICC as opposed to the home nation? That’s what I thought anyway........

Correct.

Cheers. I’m all for a bit of Surrey bashing but not their fault on this occasion then! We’re doing pretty well regardless. Could’ve done with a big score from one of the half centurions but hopefully Stokes will be that man and we can get to 330 odd.

Surely that shouldn't happen. Hit the stump fairly hard.

Ball just hit the stump at the wrong angle, does happen occasionally, the grooves for international stumps/bails are fairly deep.

BBC headlines ain’t half click bait shite - I hardly call 283-6 a collapse

Yeah. I was listening at lunch and switched off just after Buttler got out. Saw that headline a bit later and expected us to be 260 all out, as opposed to the 275-6 that we were at the time.

Shows how far England have come when 311-8 was seen as a bit disappointing.
