England summer cricket internationals

Root plays a fairly poor shot- great catch by Wilson but him and Woakes were batting fairly nicely.

Possibly we already have enough- what lead are we safe at?

150-180 ideally. Could do with some thunder overnight to get something into the pitch for the seamers

For that Irish review wonder if the umpire gets asked why they've said not out, if the Irish appealed because the umpire thought it was missing and got lucky he's gloved it then seems quite harsh to lose your review, if ump says he's gloved it and you still review then fair enough for losing a review.

Being honest if I were one of those players having just seen lightning I'd be walking off about now, happened once in a game I played several years ago and I was straight off. Can't blame Broad for mentioning it again.

This token test match in-between the World Cup and the Ashes, is utterly ridiculous scheduling as was the ECBs decision to offer the players a choice whether to play or not. Tired players, lazy shots and out of form players from county cricket has led to this farce.

Looks as if the rain might save the embarrassment of losing to Ireland.....

It won’t rain for two days!

How I'd probably go at the moment, it gets 2 spinners in the team and 3 front line seamers with Stokes as an option.

  1. Sibley
  2. Ali (he's out of form down the order anyway)
  3. Roy (hopefully allows the ball to get a bit older)
  4. Root (we know he won't bat 3)
  5. Stokes
  6. Buttler
  7. Bairstow
  8. Archer/Woakes/Curran
  9. Leach
  10. Broad
  11. Anderson

Having just looked at the forecast I've stuck £10 on a draw at 40/1

I was allowed to put £12.50 on it! So I have done at the same price.

Sorry guys never going to happen

Never trust a weather man (or app) 😂

Anything But an England win & I’m well up & let’s get the rubbish performance out of the way now so we can stuff the convicts & cheats 😂

Obviously I want England to win but I want the innings to last long enough so that Leach has the opportunity to pick up some important wickets. Although he hit 92, I'm not sure if he has done anything to secure his place in the Ashes squad. Taking 5 wickets in this innings would be enough.

Is there really any point for Broad and Woakes to have bowled this long? We know what both of them can do, why haven't we given Curran a few overs or Leach?
