Slightly off topic as not a striker but if we're looking for a winger then Spurs are apparently considering sending Jack Clarke elsewhere in January

The Canary Islands are nice that time of year.

(That's how you do off topic ?)

Get Nkunteh from his Leeds loan spell then only play him in the under 23s for shits and giggles.

I can see Arsenal recalling him if he doesn't get adequate game time (assuming the loan agreement allows this).

We'd be well placed to secure his services if they do.  Especially once Wrighty has visited as sees what we can offer

Dwight Gayle on loan.  He’s got about 59 goals and 16 assists in 100 games at this level.  No one can guarantee you goals but with him it’s as nailed on as you can get.  If we are in a playoff spot with a sniff of automatic and there’s a chance that he would be interested I’d like to think that we will have learned lessons from previous years, spend some of the Webster cash on the loan fee and the 40k per week wages and give LJ the tools needed for that final push

Yep, my knee exploded again recently, I’m having intense physio as, after three ops, they want avoid another one - it’s all about building up and strengthening as you said - although, following in the footsteps of Seaman and Beckham, I still haven’t retired from international football ... ??

Not the phrase I usually hear around Jamie Vardy.

Ooh - you obviously know Vardy well, or acquaintances of his - please do tell, why isn’t he a nice guy?

How about Lamine Diaby-Fadiga? Not sure if he's good enough but reasonable record as French youth international, definitely wouldn't fully pass DNA as he's just been sacked by Nice for stealing a teammates Watch! ?

Not really a serious suggestion but was just interested if he can sign for a club? Or does he have to wait for January and the transfer market to reopen?

I know very little about him other than having to apologise for making racist remarks about people when he was at a casino. I am sure you will tell me all about the mitigating circumstances though.

Would be quality, but certainly don't see him being sold in January.

Maybe...but I wonder how it meshes with certain financial considerations. Finance the only possible sticking point?

@RedDave

Good options there. Certainly wouldn't mind Marriott, could see him doing quite well in our style of play- will he be available though?

EDIT- Surridge on loan at Swansea, isn't he?

No, I know nothing of the incident so can’t comment ... why would you think I’d defend someone who had done something disgusting like that?! What are you insinuating? What do you mean by your blasé ‘mitigating circumstances’ comment?

Yes he is at Swansea getting little game time so far. Wondering if Bournemouth can recall and reloan out in Jan. he’s made  for a front two

I was reacting to your own very snarky comment about how well I must know Jamie Vardy.

Link.

Isn’t the rule that a player has to be out of contract during the transfer window ?

Otherwise players would be being ‘ sacked ‘ all through the season and be  mysteriously signed by other clubs.

We all know that the football governing bodies would never leave a loop hole in their regulations .

I wanted to know how you knew JV was ‘not a nice guy’ - that’s all. As I posted above, I had no knowledge of the casino incident. Your reply insinuated that i’d defend a racist which is absolute disgusting rubbish ... what made you post that?

Fair enough, late night postings in hotel rooms are not always the most articulate so I apologise for the insinuation. To be honest, it's the only story I have heard about JV, either good or bad, I am not one for reading red top newspapers etc, so it may have been a one off aberration on his part, none of us are saints after all.

Thanks for the apology PSR - let’s move on ...

A classic BS4 Tour post. Make a snarky comment and then act defensive when a similar one is thrown back in your face straight after.

You don't fail to remind me why I stopped entering debates with you

If we're looking to get some young upcoming talent in, i'd say Ivan Toney from Peterborough. As left field choices Mbwana Samatta or Leke James seem to banging them in in the Belgian and Norwegian leagues

I feel Toney would get the same treatment as Eisa, thought he would play more at Newcastle to be honest, with their strikers at the mo he would've probably had a chance too

Probably an unpopular opinion here but I have never been too excited by the prospect of Assombalonga.

Big wages, get the impression he thinks he's the biggest name in the league and every time I've watched him has missed a number of good chances.

I think he could be right unless someone comes up with Assombalongawantamoreawonga his Italian cousin
