2 defensive midfielders.

Maguire and Keane at CB are poor. I will say it, Maguire isnt that good.

Rose and Trippier worse than TAA and Chilwell.

Delph constantly being called up.

I dont think Southgate is as good as what the Country hypes him to be.

Maguire really is bang average. I really fail to see how and why United payed 80 million for him.

That was pathetic.  Maguire suffering with his move from Leicester, has the Man Utd malaise.......Keane clearly not good enough.

Southgate as much to blame tonight for the performance.  Deserved nothing, got nothing.

Maguire has gone to Man Utd and they look worse defensively than they did last season.

i think Southgate is trying to over complicate things. Just play to our strengths.

You can fluff and bluff all you like , but that was a

complete disgrace

Their attitude and application stunk

Over hyped , over paid , Premier League Players

Rice , Keane , Henderson looked like L2 players !

Joe Morrell looked far better in a Wales side last two times than any of them !!

Rose - Just stay home

The only 2 who looked International quality , though nowhere near their best were Kane and Sterling And Pickford didn’t do anything wrong

Laughable

It’s much over used, but the Czechs just wanted it more. They were hardly great, but you could see from the first minute it meant something to them. We just looked like we could not be arsed, and wanted to get through it expending as little effort as possible.

Yeh why?

Because the relevance is what’s going on now , the last few games and the future

I find it bizarre that you should bring up a historic qualifying stat over about 3 managers

Still at least Southgate broken a 10 year record

Maybe I've had one too many gins but I'd honestly get Webster in there for the November qualifiers. Can't be any worse than Keane, in fact I'm convinced he'd be far better.

Mings supposedly next in line, I don't think he's any further ahead in terms of experience at Premier League level than Webster bar half a dozen appearances for Bournemouth a couple of years ago.

Southgate needs to stop throwing around debuts like confetti to over hyped players

The England National side is not ********* development squad

Henderson is a decent player in that role but he was carrying that useless lump from West Ham all night! What is the thing with Rice, I don't get it atall?

It’s an interesting stat about England and we are watching England. Sorry you didn’t like it 😂

Joe Gomez can hopefully get back in Liverpool team and not sure why Southgate has neglected Foden and Maddison so far - clearly better than what we have.

Could we construct a gin fueled argument for playing Webster and Dunk?

Madison withdrew didn't he? Agree about Foden, we need his energy and creativity.

Yep. There was no reason for chucking Mount in tonight. Qualify first, then you can experiment.

They played round him all night ,

with him constantly 2 seconds behind the play - truly embarrassing

An outrageous statement - But Marley Watkins would have looked better in there.......!!!!

true !!

Only positive from tonight is that I really enjoyed watching the Czechs play.

Thought the CM Kral looked like a serious player, always turning on the ball and getting into space. The anti-Henderson if you will. Only 21 as well might be one to watch.

Could see how much it meant to the bald fella, not a bad way to make your international debut at 30!

He did but Southgate has refused to play him several times.

No 1 rule should be to pick players in form.  Far too many players in that squad from teams who are in bad form.  Bring Webster in for the next qualifiers :englandsmile4wf:

I’m not a massive Southgate fan - he’s an average manager.

But I do like that he generally gives youth a chance and is attack minded. And he is quite good at creating a positive attitude around the team.

Sadly he has a lot of issues with our defensive play which he isn’t addressing.

Collectively and individually awful.

Appalling selection, tactics and player’s performance. Complacent and disinterested.

Southgate...get a grip man.

England always look like a work in progress. Never the finished article. It's a case of experimentation cause I can.

One things for sure , there are numerous places in Prague where you could have much more enjoyed a couple of hours

Southgate not for me

Roy Keane is having the night of his life laying into England. Never has a man enjoyed a Friday night in Prague more than he is right now.

Thought he was quite restrained.

I’ve said before - can anyone explain the massive hype over Rice and what he’s good at ?

Every time I watch him he looks lost

Abysmal performance so far

To be fair, he has played some good games in a West Ham shirt, but for England....?

I agree. He seems out of his depth.

I’ve never once understood why rice is so highly rated. Wouldn’t even have him in the squad. same with Keane. Probably wouldn’t have Barkley in the squad either. Pickford plays every game yet Pope is so much better. Don’t even think Ox was in the squad. He’d be in my starting XI.

Digressing slightly, but he reminded me of another 'East European' bald centre forward, an absolute giant of a man whose name now escapes me - he has retired now, but I am pretty sure he used to play for Dortmund.

Can anybody on here remember his name?
