I'd say that should be the case, a goalkeeper will hit the ball half the length of the pitch more often than anyone else would.

Maybe so, but less likely to aim for a crossbar  (or just under a crossbar) than anyone else on the pitch???

Now pretend the crossbar (or just under the crossbar) is the head of a player jumping and the half-way line is the six yard box...

Frank Fielding could've done with more crossbar challenge practice.
