What's annoying is that Leeds are top, which means the Bielsa arse-kissing is gonna continue. And they're not even all that.

The longer Leeds stay top the less Nketiah will feature, could mean he gets frustrated there

Right......the same as many of us then, me included and I don’t share your opinion.

I think that this season the Championship has several teams of similar calibre with no outstanding teams like Norwich were recently and that makes the league even more difficult division to get out of.

Was a 3 horse race for much of the season. Title race to the last day.

Norwich were the best side but not the standout IMO. Actually think the top 3 were the best 3, decently so- but playoffs can always shake it up!

It's the hope that kills you, and the frustration for me.

We all know it's a topsy turvy league, we all know anyone can beat anyone, we all know there is a long old way to go still.

As i've said before, I feel like we are where we are. We have quality, we are organised, but draw specialists don't go up.

I understand the frustration, because I feel it too, that recent performances have been poor and if we had a fully fit squad, Afobe, Kalas, Nagy, JD, we could be top of the league now, and that is truly frustrating.

But we are where we are, this current 11 is a solid upper mid table one - to consistently challenge we all know we need those players back and additions in Jan, if possible.

This is my opinion and i'm saving the heartache by setting my expectations accordingly, until we are at full strength, 5th or 6th is our best shout.

We are doing ok, sixth in the table but the last two games has not been good. Both Wigan and Barnsley had many more shoots than us. Barnsley game Bentley saved us as many times before. We were 2-0 up but Barnsley as Wigan were better than us. We concede goals on corners, Famara is really missing to head away setpieces  in our own half. Famara gets lot of sticks but he is very important in the defensive. The leauge is hard to tell, we can be top six. If we can hang on until the injuried players comes back think we can make it.

  1. We could drop 6 places by next Sunday
  2. We have not enough decent cover for many of our first team injuries
  3. We still need to sign a proven striker from this league or above, this is a priority as our current missing/injured loanee has proved.
  4. This div could be ours for the taking this season but we need to step up and invest this next transfer window...no excuses.
  5. No more "square pegs in round holes" LJ and no more sitting back, we need to step up and take it, if we want it.

well said sir

  4. Im sure that applies at many clubs

  6. Where from? The strikers tree?
  7. This div could be ours for the taking this season but we need to step up and invest this next transfer window...no excuses.
  8. January is certainly not the time to do serious business. Clubs who do are usually desperate and players are more expensive because decent quality ones are rare
  9. No more "square pegs in round holes" LJ and no more sitting back, we need to step up and take it, if we want it.
  10. LJ has no choice currently with several decent players suspended or injured.

1- irrelevant in November.
2- people were saying our squad was too big. It’s very difficult to legislate for so many players being out at once - yet we are still in touch with the top places.
3- we DID sign a proven striker. He got injured.
4- spending money in January is never easy, value wise.
5- have you not noticed how many players are out..? Sometimes it just needs doing and despite this, we are still challenging.
I’m sure that LJ is just as keen to not need to have to do this.

The only square peg in a round hole is possibly Rowe? But that is pushing it considering he came in as cover for a number of positions and we have a number of injuries.

Who else is consistently played out of position? Maybe Weimann out wide, but that’s about it?

Rowe is a versatile player. Midfield or at full back. He’s comfortable in either position.

Weimann has successfully played out wide at other clubs but prefers to play as a central striker.

Im not sure who LJ means when he says ‘square pegs in a round holes’

2, I never said it was

4, it most certainly will do but not at top clubs

6, no not the strikers tree but from our highly paid scouts and people in suits who`s job it is to find them

8, so we do nothing then and just go around incircles

10 if you mean Fam as the decent player we are in trouble, if a pilot has a heart attack do you ask a steward to fly the plane or the co-pilot....we have no co-pilot to take over the stikers role.

We have certainly missed Fam. He occupies defenders, create space for other. Is an asset at defending set plays, particularly corners. Imv it’s no coincidence that City have conceded three from corners since he got dismissed.

...maybe he's talking about himself! Young coach over-reaches himself as Championship manager? As he suggested of his players 'not quite at the level yet or not experienced enough.'

I'm sure he's not talking about himself of course - he's casting around for someone else to turn the spotlight on.

But then, I'm a LJ sceptic.

Preston now top of the league. Smaller crowds never seem to spend big money yet always seem to be a decent team. Is it just me or do they do what we try and do but a lor better. Scouting well and getting  players in reasonably priced and good young players  from the lower leagues. They seem to have the consistency we often find hard to achieve.

They would be struggling if 3 or 4 of their best players were injured. They are doing really well though. They don't have a top quality goalscoring striker, but still finding ways to win. Their pretty well organised solid defence and midfield helps with that.

Penaltyeston North End strikes again.

They seem more solid than us, but even key episodes sometimes make the difference: give a red to the Barnsley kill..ehm player on Friday, and probably we'd have taken all three points too.

Thought it was a definite pen. Entertaining game and both teams going for it and moving the ball a lot quicker than we generally do.

Whilst we may have been disappointing in the last few games and perhaps we'd have liked to have picked up 3/4 more points, no one can deny that we have been one of the most consistent sides in the division and one of the hardest to beat. After drawing on Friday night people said we could drop to 10th/11th after the weekend games. That was never going to happen in this open division. To be ahead of the likes of Cardiff, Fulham, Hull, Middlesboro, Derby Stoke and others we can be well pleased especially having suffered the injuries to most of our best players. Can't imagine any other side in the division would have coped like we have. COYR's
