Agree. Football has changed. Most on here would say progress for the better.

But - Lack of atmosphere, no needle, no passion, OB overkill, pretty mundane stuff IMO nowadays. Will watch it on Sky tomorrow but this was a must attend away day years ago. How times have changed.

I remember over hearing a conversation on the train going over there in 2001

both theses guys must have been late 40,s saying they had not slept the night before du to the excitement of the following day ahead...

thats what this game ment to so many people back in the day at the old Cardiff ground

mad , brilliant, scary, backs to the wall , the day had it all ......

That was a great day at NP, I genuinely miss days like that, really raw.  I haven’t watched a City game for 18 months now, last time I was at the Gate it felt like I was in amongst a cricket crowd.

I’m not condoning crowd trouble, but we have gone from one extreme to another, football has become far too sanitised imo.

Get yourself to an away game any away game mate,it’s not the same as years back but still a lot better than then the atmosphere at the gate nowadays where people expect the team to perform and will sit on their fat asses until we score
