Sheffield United - Living the dream..!

Fair play & hats off to Sheffield United for just about the best start anyone could hope for on their first time (after long absence) in the Prem.
Quite remarkable, compared to last seasons stand out team, Norwich, who are struggling.
What sets some promoted clubs up for a better adjustment to the prem than others who are seemingly better equipped..?

They’ve already enjoyed some notable results, been unfortunate to lose late on to Liverpool and really aren’t looking out of place, sat in 5th place. What a fairytale they are having.

Gives us all hope that promotion wouldn’t purely be a case of battling for survival, although, obviously, Europa league qualification can be very detrimental to league status, the following season.

Never been a Chris Wilder fan due to his constant whinging and even more so when he said John Fleck’s disgraceful two footed lunge on Korey Smith who’s not been the same player since was only worthy of a yellow card!! Fair play to them though doing exceptionally well at present.

Sheff U wanted promotion because the fans WANT IT, the owners WANT IT and so did the players.

They got a manager who knew how to get it.

We've got one that has never won anything as a manager. He's best mates with the owners son. He's the son of one of the owners best mates.

As a club we don't WANT IT enough. Boring tactics, dreadful home record. Any other club with real ambitions of Premier League would not put up with what we have watched for the last two years.

Rant over and waiting for all the slagging replies.

.... and the Blades haven’t lost an away game yet! Incredible, they’ve also fought back to save lots of games in which they’ve gone behind - incredible spirit and application. Top manager is Wilder, what a great track record he has too...

And we dont want it either ??????

We do want it and I think we will end up getting it. OK the last three or four matches haven’t been great we have not capatlised to get the 3 points Barnsley for example. We have some players out but LJ will soon have a full squad to pick from. There is no question we will get in the Prem.

Progressing every season for the past 5 years though

Nobody forces you to put up with it either so why bother watching if we are as bad you are making out? Weird

Not sure who invented the 2 attacking centre backs in a 3. But we did it under Cotterill. The main difference with us was Cotts did not get anyone to cover them so we were wide open!

Wilder has done an outstanding job. I have always felt you don't need to spend huge amounts to go up from the championship. And Wilder showing you might not even have to spend much to stay there!

The only thing I wonder is will teams suss out how to beat them. Maybe they should give LJ a call, as he seems to know how to exploit their system.

Sheffield UTD. Another club that seems to skip effortlessly into the Premier, with us, like the fat kid trying to reach the top of a hill, 'huffing and puffing', but ultimately failing with the goal in sight..

It is bloody annoying how other clubs can do it and for some reason we just cant..as of yet anyway..I would hazard a guess that of all the teams never to have played in the PL we must have been one of the biggest spenders trying to get there.

We have been badly run as a club , even during our glory years in the top division but since , I believe our play off defeat to Hull , Steve Lansdown realised we needed a radical change to the way we approach the future of BCFC .

To his immense credit we are now a professionally run club with ambition and we will get to the top whether it’s this season, whether it’s with LJ at the helm who knows ?

I believe that had we gone up instead of Hull we would now be in the same situation as Bolton Wanderers .

Steve Lansdown will not let anything get in the way of his plan for the Prem . If everything points to that blocage being LJ he will , reluctantly, replace him but we are currently a long way from that happening.

As a bit of a contradiction to my previous point , had we gone up in place of Hull , once we get there we will lift the monkey off our backs,  we would become more like a Norwich, West Brom type club who bounce about confidently between the Prem and the Championship.
