Sheffield United’s incomings the summer before they went up. Imagine the OTIB meltdown if we had done that!

The second one on the list was one I was advocating the season before.

Remember saying he could do everything that Pack could, and being laughed at by some!!!

We have been badly run as a club , even during our glory years in the top division but since , I believe our play off defeat to Hull , Steve Lansdown realised we needed a radical change to the way we approach the future of BCFC .

To his immense credit we are now a professionally run club with ambition and we will get to the top whether it’s this season, whether it’s with LJ at the helm who knows ?

I believe that had we gone up instead of Hull we would now be in the same situation as Bolton Wanderers .

Steve Lansdown will not let anything get in the way of his plan for the Prem . If everything points to that blocage being LJ he will , reluctantly, replace him but we are currently a long way from that happening.

As a bit of a contradiction to my previous point , had we gone up in place of Hull , once we get there we will lift the monkey off our backs,  we would become more like a Norwich, West Brom type club who bounce about confidently between the Prem and the Championship.

I hope your right Major..

A small aside, from Johnson senior when he went was, "you know its time to leave when they (the players) stop laughing at your jokes." let's hope Lee remains funny for long enough to gain promotion...

Progressing every season for the past 5 years though

Nobody forces you to put up with it either so why bother watching if we are as bad you are making out? Weird

Pathetic response!

Nobody has forced me to support City for 70 years. I do it because I want to.

But I also want to be entertained and I also want to see us in the top league again.

Four years out of that last one hundred and eleven years is a pitiful record for a football club of our size.

Harry Dolman once said at a shareholders meeting that "Bristol City will never be a Tottenham Hotspur". Maybe we will never be as big a club, but we should be able to compete with those like Bournemouth, Watford, Burnley, Norwich, Palace, Sheffield United who all spend considerably more time up there than we do.

Sheff U wanted promotion because the fans WANT IT, the owners WANT IT and so did the players.

They got a manager who knew how to get it.

We've got one that has never won anything as a manager. He's best mates with the owners son. He's the son of one of the owners best mates.

As a club we don't WANT IT enough. Boring tactics, dreadful home record. Any other club with real ambitions of Premier League would not put up with what we have watched for the last two years.

Rant over and waiting for all the slagging replies.

They went and got a manager that was managing the mighty Northampton Town, it was a huge gamble for them and I very much doubt if they appointed him thinking he was the man to lead them to the prem.

I'd love to see your response to us appointing a manager from Northampton Town!!

Wilder had won promotion twice in his fifteen year management career.

Admittedly, all lower leagues but 15 years and 2 promotions.

Johnson when he came to us?

2/3 years experience and no promotions.

Promotion from the conference via the play offs after throwing away top spot and then he won League Two.

In 15 years that's pretty poor tbf.

Darrel Clarke has a similar record in less time.

So I'm thinking we should sack LJ and appoint Clarke to lead us to the premier league?
