Tinmans Love Child Posted November 10, 2019 Report Share Posted November 10, 2019 I always like to take a look at the tables from previous seasons to gauge how we are doing (in this case 2015-2019). As at the 10/11/19 this is our second biggest points haul, and only 2 short of our best season in 2017 when we had 30 points at this stage. This is also our second best goals scored with 25, 1 short of the 26 in 2017. Interestingly in both 2019 and 2017 we were only 5 off top, compared to 2015 when we were 19 points off top at this stage and even last season where we were 11 points off top already (with an extra game played). So all in all things are going pretty well I think, and I’m actually glad we have an international break now to hopefully get some more players back. 22A Posted November 10, 2019 Report Share Posted November 10, 2019 I appreciate your optimism, but after a third of the season City have conceded 21.Looking back, when City have been promoted they've conceded forty or less for the entire season. 2015 - 38, 2007 - 39, 1998 - 39, 1990 - 40, 1984 - 44, 1976 (only 42 games) - 35. The 1965 team conceded 55 goals whilst only scoring 92. Suggests many 2-1 wins. Meanwhile looking for coincidences and thinking "2 out of 3 ain't bad"; 1975 Villa & Norwich were promoted out of this division. 1976 City & WBA were promoted out of this div.
