See England have given legacy numbers to every player ever capped for England. John was the 753rd player to get a cap for the Three Lions. 322rd was a certain Billy Wedlock. 1244 in total.

If anyone wants the full list...

Chris Crowe at 808.

If I had the wings of a sparrow......

Would have played so many more times without blinkered management and suits.

Atyeo. What a player. What a man.

Well only if he had turned pro. It was his choice not to and stay truthful to himself and where he wanted to go in life. There is no way England would be taking non professional players long term in the era of professionalism. He could have gone to Italy as well but his doggedness to stay semi pro and continue his work stopped that.

He went pro for a little while but reverted back to semi pro to study to become a maths teacher.

He did exactly what he wanted to do. If he wanted to be a career footballer with a big international future he could of. He chose not to. I am not sure there was any issue with suits or management.. or do you know something different?
