He respected him enough to take him to 3 clubs & wasn’t Monk caught up in some sort of ‘Agent bung’ fiasco (apparently)? So you can hardly blame his assistant for no longer wanting to work with him & I’d guess it’s all, if not most assistant managers ambition to become a manager / head coach in their own right? So if the opportunity arose, it’s no surprise he would want to take the opportunity. Monk very much comes across as one of those people that thinks the world revolves around themselves & the sun shines out of his arse!! He’s finally got a small reality check.
