Six ties from the upcoming Emirates FA Cup third round have been selected for broadcast in the UK.

The first televised match will be on BT Sport 1 as Newcastle United travel to Rochdale or Boston United on Saturday 4 January 2020 with a 12.31pm kick-off time. The hosts are due to replay their drawn second-round tie on Monday 16 December.

The second game of Saturday 4 January – also on BT Sport 1 – is an all-Premier League tie, as Wolverhampton Wanderers host Manchester United, kicking off at 5.31pm.

There will be three televised ties on Sunday 5 January. The day starts with Middlesbrough against Tottenham Hotspur at 2.01pm and ends with West Ham United travelling to Gillingham at 6.16pm. Both games will be on BT Sport 1, with the Merseyside derby between Liverpool and Everton – which kicks off at 4.01pm and will be broadcast on BBC One – sandwiched between them.

Third-round weekend culminates on BBC One with Arsenal hosting Leeds United on Monday 6 January, with kick-off at 7.56pm.

Pretty much every game I would have picked TBF.

Why are they all 2:01 and 4:01 kick offs? Why not just stick with on the hour ?

The Football Association has today announced that all Emirates FA Cup third round ties will be delayed by one minute to encourage fans to ‘Take A Minute’ to think about looking after their mental health, as part of the Heads Up campaign.

It`s to do with a mental health awareness campaign - take a minute to think, something like that. It was mentioned in the 3rd round draw coverage that all games would kick off a minute `late`.

Not me! The magic of the Cup is to see footballing minnows play the big teams with the hope of a giant killing, especially in the early rounds. Instead we get all Premier ties, including no doubt another totally boring and one sided scouse derby and surprise, surprise Leeds yet again. Its a disgrace. These clubs don't need the TV revenue that clubs further down the pyramid do. Once again football and the paying public have been short changed by the media.

I just thought it was a decent mix of levels that should appeal to most. Viewing figures are what counts for the BBC though.
