Must be a combination of being very badly managed as well as the brand diminishing in value year on year. They’ve been the poor relations for years.

Years of in fighting and still believing that they're better than the breakaway gits of the PDC.

Hearn offered to buy them out years ago but they knocked him back

Darts needs the BDO though. They still run the County system, super league etc

Loving the darts....

Also just read about the crisis in the BDO. Ouch after moving from the lakeside to new venue for first time in 33 years they have only sold tickets at 15% of capacity for every session.

They are also reducing overall price fund from £354,000 to £150,000 including a 50% cut in the women's prize down from £16,000 to £8,000! All down to extra production costs and lack of sponsors.

Only time before Barry hearn comes calling !!

Why would you move it from Lakeside, the real proper home of darts whatever you think of the current venues etc.   Not sure what Hearn could pick up from the BDO although the local leagues etc would be a sad loss if the organisation folded

In Hearns original offer he regonised what the BDO is good at, county darts etc. I believe he said he would wind up the BDO world champs etc and all players would become pdc players but have to go to q school like everyone else but let them continue to run all the local stuff as they have to knowledge. They passed.

Are the BDO world champs even on TV?

Don’t think even the BBC cares much about them anymore - was split on BT and BBC last few years. Fact they’ve had one 9 dart finish (29 years ago!) in the worlds says it all.

No.....he comes across as really ignorant and aggressive bully. He and Lewis are the two darts players I dislike the most. Really glad they’re both out.

Having met both players on more than one occasion I can confirm they are just as bad in the flesh.

Another I'd add to that list is James Wade, he's a complete bell end.

On the flipside Phil Taylor was always a decent bloke and Dave Chisnall is a top bloke too

Ah well, I’ll change my opinion of Price from not liking his persona, to thinking he is an arrogant twat..... 😀

It could be an interesting couple of months with what happens with darts in general

There are stories that the BDO is on the verge of collapsing, I was told that people are waiting weeks for prize money (£250) as there was insufficient cash flow to pay everyone

I see this morning they have come out and said only 15% of tickets have been sold for the upcoming tournament and as a result income was down 85%

I have a feeling the people applying to join the PDC Q school may increase somewhat after this news

At least you got a good run for your money.

Can't see MVG Hitting a 9 dart in the final, but you never know..

Hate to say, but that seems to be his preferred way at the moment

Guess he is much more confident aiming down that way

Still wouldn't throw away your betting slip just yet

Fallon Sherrock has pulled out of next weeks BDO competition now due to "unexpected changes" to the event

Her raise to fame in the Ally Pally competition would surely have added ticket sales etc to the BDO competition?

At least she can concentrate now on playing in the PDC Q school which starts again in January and get her Q card into the tournaments like all the other female players

Interesting Price has come out this afternoon and apologised to Peter Wright, I wonder how much them being under the same sports management company had to play in that decision?

No doubt about it. Though Wright is apparently one of the few players who doesn't think he's a complete bellpiece, so maybe he thought he'd better try and retain some friends at least.
