No pace no tempo

We play with no pace or tempo its all very slow build up play theres no urgency in our play no injection of pace when was the last time we saw a ball played over the top for players to run on to it never happens we seem to play hoping something going to happen rather than doing something to make it happen

It's because we have no one with genuine pace at all. Eliasson is probably the quickest with O'Dowda but you very rarely see them getting away from their markers.

The top and bottom of it all is we’ve been figured out by most sides at home.

We pose bang average teams no threat cos they sit in, play 4-5-1 and force us into our sideways keep ball which we’re more than happy to do because of our footballing philosophy. I guarantee almost every side that comes to AG between now and the end of the season will do the same.

Away, we’re a different animal, teams that press us get picked off with our countering style. At home we can’t break teams down and haven’t really been able to since we’ve been back in the championship. Something has to change because we are so easy to play against, it’s embarrassing predictable. Any visiting coach who’s done even a half-assed due diligence will do exactly what Rowett and Mowbray have done this week.

Today, we were guilty of giving the ball away in midfield.....a lot! I stopped counting at 10+ and this was way before the second goal. A steep learning curve for HNM for sure.

Have pace and tempo as much as you like without the ball.

WBA Millwall and now Blackburn bullied us, won everything and when they had possession used it. When we did have the ball it was gone within four passes....UTTER UTTER UTTER crap.

Ashley Williams is the only one out there today with any credit again. He must be fuming with the ineptitude of the last two games and the nonsense management.

Its like it’s been drilled into the players to pass the ball straight away. So many times today there was space to run into with the ball but the pass was made instead, a lot of times it’s 2 passes and the ball ends up back in exactly the same spot.
They play like they are in a training match, nothing creative whatsoever, a tip tap passing game that any opposition who would have done their research can play against very easily.

Only thing is he missed the best chance of the game.

For me there was no one who came out of that game with credit. No one.

Think fam chance where he doesn’t tap it in is the biggest chance it’s just down to lazy movement why he doesn’t get there

williams chance there’s a slight touch on the ball before gets to him and I think he stuck in 2 minds to go far post or head it to weimann who was free in the middle

It's like when we get the ball, we don't seem to have a clue what to do with it.  Pass it sideways, forward, back, sideways then back again.  There seems to either be a lack of creativity in our midfield or in our tactics.

More worrying is the smount of ball watching going on, the fact that we always seem second to the ball and win bugger all in the air.  We are 1-0 down, then 2-0 down and there still seems to be no urgency or commitment.

Start paying players on the number of points they accumulate and you may see a different attitude.  At the moment they can earn 20 or 30 grand a week irrespective of results.
