OneTeamInBristol
In the situation where 2 lanes merge into 1 and there is queuing traffic in the left hand lane with the right hand lane completely empty why do so many drivers think it is wrong to use the right hand lane until the merge happens? There are 2 lanes so use them. If a 1 mile long line is split in half and the rear half mile put alongside the front half mile the queue is now half as long. Who do people seem to not understand this?
Guest
Don’t get me started about this with the A369 to Portishead - the amount of aggressive people in the left who don’t understand the concept of merge in turn
The Dolman Pragmatist
It’s staggering isn’t? I’ve been almost rammed on to the opposite side of the road when trying to merge just after the Brislington Park & Ride. On motorways I’ve seen people forming an orderly queue in the inside lane half a mile from roadworks, thus probably causing a ten-mile tailback in the rear distance. Traffic management is a surprisingly fascinating subject but my god, people are strange.

TMWANG50
I believe the highway code dictates also to merge in turn, some roadwork's even have merge in turn signs. I am always a man to go up to the cones and cut in at the last minute lorry drivers appear to have the biggest problem with this. The British love a good queue don't they!
