Dan Bentley post match interview

Wow what a great honest interview. No excuses, hands up that it wasn’t good enough. Certainly happy to accept his view that it wasn’t lack of effort . Said that they had played poorly not executed plans or played to expected levels.

What a difference from making excuses about a soft penalty which it was and accepting responsibility.

Also think he has the potential to become an outstanding keeper. Player of season by a mile so far.

Have loved his shot stopping in several games but a brave call to offer him up as best player this season. His distribution by throw and kick has put us under increasing and unnecessary defensive pressure and this is getting worse, match by match. 3 such examples yesterday putting Hunt and Rowe in very bad positions. He has been my MoM several times but so have Moore, Williams, Kalas, Nagy & Brownhill. Fam and Weimann might like the occasional accurate long kick from D.B

He is exceptional on the ball for a GK at this level. For him to be struggling says more about our style of play and the movement of the players in front of him imo. Brentford used him very well.

It’s because he’s going medium / long far more often than earlier in the season, when we actually move the ball out from the back.  It’s a trend that sees us forced deeper and deeper.
