1st Jan to 15th Feb

Recommended Posts

Between the 1st Jan and the 15th Feb (when we play Leeds away), we certainly have some winnable games, really need to capitalise on this period of games I think

Brentford H

Wigan A

Barnsley H

Reading A

QPR A

Birmingham H

Derby H

Leeds A

Appreciate it’s not as simple as that and you never know at the moment what team will turn up but I’d like to think we could get 15 points from those 8 games

10-12 would be my prediction, currently.
If we can get on a decent run again, then 15 could be possible.
probably need 18-20 from those games to be right in the top 6 mix for the final quarter of the season.

Aahh! Safety from relegation.

Just about the same time of the year when they do the "Season ticket renewal" campaign.

Brentford will be tough as usual.

Wigan have reasonable home form.

Barnsley can give anyone a game.

Reading are improving under Bowen.

QPR better at home than away.

Birmingham could/should have beaten Leeds.

Derby will be experiencing the “Rooney bounce”.

Leeds will beat us as usual!

Given our recent form anything more than a point per game would be good!

Brentford H 1pt

Wigan A 1pt

Barnsley H 3pts

Reading A (if it even goes ahead on that day being Cup 4th round) 1pt

QPR A 1pt

Birmingham H 3pts

Derby H 3pts

Leeds A 0pts

So 13 putting us on 51 after 33 games - playoffs if we continue at that rate? Probably not quite IMO.

We’ll beat Wigan, Barnsley, QPR & Derby.
Draw against Birmingham and Brentford.
Lose to Reading & Leeds (goes without saying might as well save our energy and forfeit the game)

I’ve changed my mind. Any points in this run would be good!

Following this optimistic post on the 30/12/19 we have gained 9 out of 12 available points.  I went for 15 as a target so 2 wins from last 4 games will do me, but hopefully more!

My optimism is paying off 12 points so far!

We have 15 points already, I hope I’m not 100% accurate as that will mean we only end up with 15!  Still even if Leeds beat us (which is no shame really) It’s been a great return from those games

So in hindsight we can see that the only way we were going to keep in top 6 contention was to be the form team in the league in that period.
