Jerseybean
I received a fitness tracker as a Christmas present, which is my first one. Since wearing it my average heart rate has been 83 bpm.......I was, however, stunned by what happened to my heart rate yesterday afternoon while watching a ‘comfortable’ home win against Luton. It reached 174 bpm. See the graphic below.I have always got pretty wound-up when watching the City but really hadn’t quite appreciated how much! This reminded me of a game, about 40 odd years ago, when I was a steward in A block of the old grandstand, A block was reserved for OAPs, and I think we were playing Liverpool. Three A block regulars had heart attacks and died that afternoon, I spent most the game alerting St John Ambulance volunteers!

They’ve conned you, that’s not a heart rate graph, that’s Bristol City form table
Peter O Hanraha-hanrahan
I felt pretty ill for several minutes after JETs goal in the JPT...not ‘dying’ ill but ‘what’s going on, why can’t I breath properly?’ ill. I dread to think what my bpm was.

Lanterne Rouge
When Ralph Milne scored that screamer away at York many years ago I hyperventilated on the terrace and needed the St John`s Ambulance folk!

This very much inappropriate 1) you got a hard on during game (1 - 0 ) to you 2) you have different sized balls ( still 1 - 0) 3) I kept a clean sheet did you? wendyredredrobin
When anyone collapsed at a dull game during the 70's some wag would always say he had a heart attack from all the excitement as St John's ambulance guys were carrying him away on a stretcher. redysteadygo
I always thought the stock answer to the consultant when he informed you of heart problems and advised not to do anything that caused excitement was " it's alright doc I only go to watch the City". So did another 26,000 of us £15 on City to win 2-1 at odds of 24/1 was quite a handy bonus too.

I had a fiver @ 25/1 so it went towards the day off with a hangover.
Chivs
You are seeing just the negatives. At almost exactly 5pm, at the end of the game, your heart rate was the lowest all day. So the advice from Southmead should be: go to the end of City games....
