bengalcub
Waste of a wage , We have two strikers, ones a kid who only gets on the bench due to rules and regulations the other is better at defending corners than scoring from them ....... East Londoner
I’d like to see us sign an experienced striker like Glenn Murray and have him work with Semenyo as there’s a striker in there somewhere plus Murray is still a decent player himself
EnderMB
Would a striking coach join Bristol City at this moment, at a point where only a few loses could result in the manager leaving and a whole new coaching team being put in place? That's not to say that Lansdown would get rid of LJ, but many other owners would.

I suppose a decorated former pro might be able to give more gravitas when coaching in certain areas but it's no guarantee they'd be a great coach. We have no idea what happens on the training pitch so criticism of McAllister and Holden in this regard is unfair. There's form for this on this forum though; I remember when people (ridiculously) saw Holden as some sort of Jonah figure because his arrival coincided with a bumpy run. It's better to comment on things we can actually measure and assess. Are you saying it isn't possible to measure or assess the quality of coaching? We often hear of players moving to a club saying they're looking forward to working with coach 'x' - so the players must know a good coach when they see one. Anyway, I'm not criticising any of our coaches - my point is that we appear desperate to sign new strikers when we may have more talent in house than we currently realise. So why not save a bit of Steve's cash and invest in a specialist to help maximise this talent.

That lack of consistency is why hes not in the premier league. That is Fammy to a tee though isn’t it. Can one minute do the seemingly impossible and score, and the next be equally as baffling and miss open goals. As you say, that’s why he isn’t playing at a higher level than us, never mind the Premier League. He does work his socks off lately though, and clearly fights for the cause and loves the club. Totally agreed, seems a great guy to have around the place too
