Am I right in thinking Eliasson didn't take a single one today?

The one major impact of making Brownhill captain is that he nows pulls rank over Eliasson or, worse still, allows Paterson to take one of his floaty, non-dangerous corners.  It is unforgiveable that one of the best dead ball specialists in the league is 3rd in line to take our corners.

Thought Nic took the corner a Barnsley defender headed on to his own bar? Happy to be corrected.

You may well be right.  My point is he should be the main man always as he is clearly the best at it.  Manure didn't give the 2nd corner to Giggs because it was his turn.  Beckham took all of them because he was unquestionably the best at them..

Eliasson took most of the corners in the first half. As good as his crossing is from open play I always thought his crossing from a deaf ball left a little to be desired, often struggling to beat the firsts man or completely over hitting it.  Nothing wrong with them today though

It may help his confidence and belief if he is told 'you're the best we've got so get on with it

Eliasson took the corner that created panic and nearly an own goal, and he also took the corner that Williams headed at near post when keeper just got a touch on it onto the post (was a great corner as not many expected it). A few of his assists have been from corners I think this season, so unsure where the dead ball comment comes from - unless I am only remembering the better ones?

As for not beating the first man or over hitting them, it is down to the technique and I think you just have to accept that many will not go to plan. The corner to the near post yesterday was superb, but literally a couple of inches lower and it would look like a terrible corner - as LJ says "fine margins".....
