Clear what our problem this season is and it’s conceding 40 goals in 28 games

So this flies in the face of people who say we are going backwards. - We arent going anywhere!

We may be more entertaining to watch this season, I actually think the whole division is better than last season and we'll need a bit of luck to push on to yet another improvement in our finishing position.

40 GA with the most expensive defence the club has ever had in its history with one centre back costing £8 million.. it does make you wonder.

He’s been injured for a large part of the season so far. A fully fit Kalas, would have been worth the price tag.

Bris Red; i think you need some perspective here as the defence is largely, new cost very little if you take a fair view that we sold last season's defence - in fact this year therefore cost us nout!

As away fans this season so far is certainly up to last season's best ever and i love winning at bigger clubs with more recent EPL money.

In fact we are continuing to improve home and away, (ok, overall) every season to become the highest performing team / manager, this club has ever had (in most of out watching lifetimes)

Long may it continue, Johnson is our King!

There is plenty of talk of how we have become negative in play and yet conceding more goals (and possession) and if you look a bit deeper and compare some of the shot data figures it has been quite some turnaround and the reason why a lot of fans are perplexed. Is this really the identity of football Lee Johnson wants us to be heading in?

Yes we have become more clinical (%goals per shots) which I assume is why we are still surviving this year so far at the right end of the table but other parameters are not making very good reading (data from Footstats.co.uk).

Can anyone explain to me what benefit there is comparisons between seasons?

Every season is different to previous ones.

1)The Championship is different with promoted and relegated teams joining it.

2)Virtually every club will have either strengthened or become weaker so how is it possible to make accurate comparisons?

The benefit is simple; it provides talking points (what would a forum be with these) but it also provides a (very, very) small bit of credibility to those points being made! You may ask what is the benefit of opinions or facts. One answer is most people on here are bored or want to complain to a wider audience than their friends that things could be better at BCFC. It's the same with forums at Man U, Man C, Spurs, Chelsea, Arsenal et al.

BTW Talksport this morning listed those clubs who ' desperately' need a striker and 'must do business this month' as being Man U (Rashford out), Spurs (Kane out), Arsenal (dont score goals), Everton, Villa, Bournemouth, Norwich (all struggling to avoid that hell called the Championship) so i guess some people will assume MA and LJ can just pick up a stiker because we supposedly need one. Considering we've only had a small help from our main man, Afobe, this season we are doing really really well......compared to any season in the last 44 years
