Just heard O’Neil interviewed pre match, when asked what he’d done to improve things at Stoke....he replied along the lines of, I’ve played a settled team as that breeds familiarity and confidence.

Umm interesting.

Johnson has not kept a settled team because he hasn't found a formula yet.

We have seen in the past 17/18 good run, 15 game unbeaten run last season. He will keep the same side just like his Dad used to.

Still behind us on current form tables over 6 and 10 games.

When you look at the form table over the last 6 games, if WBA lose tonight they'll be 2nd from bottom. Leeds also low.

Results weekly turn up results we think shouldn't happen.

There is no easy game in this league.

Baggies friends saying how crap they are...Leeds friends saying the same.

Yes our football has been less than exciting, and results up and down...but apart from Brentford and maybe Leeds are we any more boring to watch than the majority of teams in this league?

We set that bar so high a couple seasons back, entertainment wise.

Perhaps this is just the Championship...

Stoke look very poor considering some of the players they have.

WBA should win this.

To be fair, Stoke defended like their lives depended on it.

Poor quality from both sides.

WBA on the slide - like Leeds.

How long do we wait for this so called "formula"? I thought (like many) he had the team and "formula" finally sorted against Huddersfield and then Fulham.... Then he had to tweak that (just couldn't leave it alone) after 2 superb wins and we then play predictably poor, tweak that again and another loss (rather than going back to the Hudds and Fulham tactics), then next step is to remove 3 midfielders and change them....

The Baggies losing at home to lowly Stoke just amplifies how unpredictable the Championship is and yet some posters  become  angry and vociferous when City struggle in any given game............

Nothing has clicked yet. Last season he had tried loads of different set ups but I think it was ipswich away where he went to a 4141 and we went on to win it. He ended up sticking with that for most of the next 15 that we won 11 and drew 4 of.

I can't think of many teams apart from perhaps Newcastle and Wolves who once they got to the top have remained there between Xmas and May. Wolves were certainly an unusually "gifted" team that season!

I see what you did there. Nicely done.

WBA and Leeds have taken just 8 points between them from a possible 30 over the last five games......with only the one win in ten games.

All 6 teams currently below the top two  (which includes us) have each taken more points that the top two teams combined over the same number of games.  Forest and Millwall have between them taken 24 out of 30. We have taken 9 out of 15.

If WBA or Leeds don’t win their next game, the top of the Championship will get quite interesting rather quickly.

Question is - has anyone else played the 3 teams marooned at the bottom in the last 6 games. LJ lucky to get a run like that at a time we are playing poorly.

It will be interesting to see how long we take to win 3 more.

Probably less than that of WBA fans, they will have no qualms binning off Billic if their top 2 place looks in serious danger.

1. Most teams have a run of bad games during a season, so I don’t think WBA will panic just yet.

2. There are no easy games in this league. Leeds and West Brom will tell you that.

3. Teams struggling at the bottom can be much tougher opponents than teams with a gap at the top, especially at this stage of the season. Plus, it only takes one or two new players brought in during the January transfer window to totally transform a poor team.
