Port Said Red
In the Sports Bar now, not too busy but chairs all laid out for comfort. Should be an interesting evening.
Port Said Red
Half time and the Flyers are down by 11 points, they started strongly but suddenly seemed to lose their shooting and it turned around so quickly. I don't think I will ever think of a football game being "end to end" for a while. :).
Port Said Red
We left with 5 minutes left in the final quarter, Flyers did get to within 5 but then Glasgow just blew them away. It was a 14 point deficit when we left. Probably our fault as we did the same thing the first time we went to see the rugby at the Gate and they lost their first game in the regular season in about 2 years! Either way they would have to come back to Bristol, if not for another game but to go home. 19 hours ago, 054123 said: What about their winter break? Port Said Red
It was great to see them record their first ever home win in European Basketball against Landstede Hammers, 68-56. A low scoring but topsy turvy game where both teams had good leads in each quarter. Rowell Graham-Bell and Rafaelle Thomas-Edwards both scored well, but my MVP was Brad Greene who was his usual unflustered self at both ends of the court. Considering injuries to at least three key players, they are doing very well in the European league with 3-1 record so far, perhaps a little better than their recent BBL record. They must be itching to get a proper stadium and really kick on. Edited December 6, 2023 by Port Said Red
Port Said Red
Fantastic achievement by the Flyers tonight, reaching the Play Off's in their first season of European basketball. They have a 12 day break now before resuming in the domestic league, maybe they deserve a bit of publicity at half time on Friday night?
