This time last season

Anyone noticed that this time last season our record was identical - W14 D8 L8?  Our last 16 matches last season saw us get W5 D5 L6 and only just miss out on the play-offs.  Surely we can do better than that this season?  Just W7 D5 L4 would see us total 76 points, which would guarantee the play-offs in most seasons.

Actually the pattern of last season and this is very similar.  Decent form in the autumn, but a slump in December (with ‘fans’ on OTIB screaming Johnson Out) followed by a seven-match winning run in January/February.  Let’s hope the impetus of the new players makes all the difference for the rest of the season.

Our aim now should be autos. Anything less and we can still be in the mix and would continue the season on season improvement.

I think come the end of Feb we’ll have a pretty good idea of what our realistic target can/should be.
A good month ahead and I’d agree, we could be challenging the top 2.
A mediocre month and top 6 should still be possible.
A poor month and we could easily fall back into mid table.

It’s got all the potential to be a very interesting & exciting run in..!

I know some games are classed as 6 pointers, but I really don’t care (at this point) who we get our points against.

The shortest month, yet the most games.

It probably means nothing, but I like us having 6 days til Brum and then 5 days til Derby, with both being at home.  Good training ground time for the new arrivals without wasting days away from Failand due to away travel.  That will give them the best opportunity of integrating quickly.  Then away at Leeds, before a clean week to West Brom.

Ok I will play ..Yes thanks to MA's hard work in the transfer market..

No - everything is different.

Different teams

Different players in those teams

Different managers

Different refs

Different decisions

Different weather

Different luck.

and thats exactly why it’s such a frustrating and exciting sport to watch let alone to predict.

Let’s try to be different ourselves - get behind the team & stop criticising each and every comment some forum members make, if you don’t like them just hit the ignore button - try to contribute in a more constructive way?

If you extrapolate our form or forecast the the remaining fixtures with home and away pts averages v ours home and away or anything else to do you get to 74pts.

It’s almost as if we are 6th and if we carry on this form and everybody else theirs we end up ...6th.

ive looked at It from all angles and it really is down to winning football games!

Great transfer window

Fammy in amazing form

Team spirit and fight looks like we are up for it.

buckle up

100%, if we keep this form going and get a win against Leeds, we will be looking good.  With the transfer window we’ve had it certainly feels different to previous seasons where we have been in a good position to push on and didn’t sign any quality, I have more confidence we can hold out, but there are so many teams capable

And both Derby and Brum are playing mid week FAC replays.
