I’m thinking the same, I know it’s just 3 points but psychologically seems much bigger, I’m more worried about extending the gap to 7th at the moment as I feel we may come a cropper against wba and Leeds.

Bang on the money. We are getting to that point of the season now where psychology plays a huge part

We are in a very similar position now to where we were the last two seasons. Difference is this time....we are coming out of January on a positive run. The last two years we have been looking at a downward trend about now

Friday for me this is our biggest game since 'that' Wolves game. A win and we go third. And when you look at who is playing who over the weekend....we could still be there come Saturday

Winning breeds confidence. And this part of the season doesn't necessarily mean the teams with the most quality wins. Confidence plays a massive, massive part

Lee Johnson is like a cat. He's used up how many of his lives so far? He just keeps coming back. Good on him and let's hope now our home form can FINALLY click into place

Well I think we were in this exact same position last season (same position, same points??), and we won the next game.

So we'd got ourselves only needing maybe 6 wins and 4 draws...

We managed 4 wins and 5 draws, and watched as Derby grabbed 6th.

Please not again...

There is a big , big difference this year , we  have bought a Championship ready striker .

In addition the two internationals for the defence and midfield shows our hand .

We are quite clearly ‘ going for it ‘ like we never have previously.

Uncle Steve will be expecting a play off spot minimum so the gauntlet has been thrown down .

Failure is not an option or excusable. The players and coaching staff know what is expected of them, this is for real.

No fannying about , this is ‘ Shit or Bust  ‘ for many people in the club .

How amazing would it be for  Kalas to be promoted for a third time with a third different club ?

At least he is psychologically capable !

Who else has been promoted with a team ?

Obviously , Korey, Pato , Ash ...

Yeah, completely agree. Surely we've addressed the issues that held us back in the past?!

Johnson himself said that our home record will be key now. So in a weeks time, how will that look...?

End of the week, Friday feeling, everyone's got a few beers onboard, under the lights, city on good form and a chance to make a real statement of intent.

I can't wait. Hope the gate is absolutely rocking ?

Nakhi to score in first 5 minutes, stadium erupts!

It does feel huge. Maybe it’s with it being Friday night under the lights as well but I’m really nervous/excited for this one. Friday can’t come soon enough.

Games under lights at AG are always exciting and with the match live  and the Brummie fans adding to it it’ll be a cracking atmosphere.

I’m really looking forward to it.

Obviously a win would keep the run going but a draw or even a loss wouldn’t be the end of the world, it’s just one match in this set of Championship fixtures.

Definitely a massive game!
4 or 6 points from these next 2 home games will have us in the top 6 going into 2 massive away games, which will determine whether we are challenging for top 2 or top 6 finish.

From the next 4 games...

12pts - serious top 2 contenders

9+Pts - in with a real chance of top 2 and likely comfortably placed in top 6.

6-9pts - serious top 6 contenders

4/5 Pts - continuing a top 6 challenge

less than 4 pts and we’ll be looking unlikely to secure a top 6 finish.

Absolutely this! Lets remember games will start to run out quickly come March. We have a real chance here to make a statement of intent. We wont stay in touch with the top 2 for long if we don't keep winning and teams below us will be wary of the gap widening if we do keep wining. Its easier for us to make up 6-8 points on the leaders with 16 games to go than it would be with 8 games to go. We must stay in touch and that starts Friday. Anything less than 3 points will be demoralising for us all, even the most optimistic. It will leave us with a lot to do with such tough games coming up. Lets light up the stadium on Friday and get the atmosphere going. Its been sadly lacking at home this season.

It's worth pointing out, Rooney has 53 goals from 120 games. Henry, widely considered the greatest ever Premier League striker had a record of 51 goals in 123 games, you would imagine that France had very similar fixtures to our own.

think you probably meant this for the other thread.

Usually I am a huge exponent of the “long term view” like some of the posters on this thread, but in this case I am leaning towards the OP.
I think it’s not just the 3 points either, if we could see Wells linking up with Fam, and could see a performance that shows the new arrivals are raising standards, that would be hugely important to the morale around the club.
