It's interesting, and is something I have thought about myself.

On a local note, my understanding is that there are similar economic arguments behind our own club going for RobinsTV rather than signing up for the EFL's iFollow platform. Honestly I think it is more likely that the big clubs break away and set up their own streaming. Most have had their own in house TV channels running 24/7 for years.

I disagree with one thing in the video though. "PremFlix" would not necessarily need to employ all those pundits and tailor the offering to every market. I reckon they could get away with stripped back match programmes, cheaply dubbed over using translators from cheap local stations and then supplemented by more in depth highlights shows. RobinsTV on a matchday is fully stripped back. No studio, no pundits, just Toby Osborne and a guest chatting for 5 mins pre-match and then commentating. It's basic but more than does the job of showing you the football. Must cost about £10 to produce each game.

Financial gamble.

The TV revenue for Premiership football is insane.

Think most clubs would rather a bid fest between platforms, rather than a standard platform.

All about the 💷💷💷💷💷

Third parties will most probably be the platform.

When Sky pulled revenue from Italy in the 90's, it created quite a downfall in their domestic 'attraction'.

People say the money they get now is crazy. It could and probably will go onto a whole new level in the future.
