I'm commuting at the moment

Saturday/ Tuesday night, due to variety of excuses

This match was moved by A/S police - pretty much standard for matches involving clubs like Cardiff, Swansea and Milwall. The last thing the old bill want is hundreds of pissed up thugs arriving having been boozing in pubs pre match.

Public safety and all that.

I see your point but all the pubs around the ground open earlier so still plenty of time for “boozing”.

Poor excuse if in this day and age they can't control these numbers

C’mon Phantom - you know, as we all know that there is a significant history between City and Cardiff going back decades and if the thugs from either club could booze all morning, arrive at AG pissed right up and be intent of causing then the old Bill have a serious problem.

So......to reduce the likelihood of such trouble by reducing the amount of boozing time they have. Therefore a 12:30pm ko.

Yes

Well......I doubt the old Bill will allow that.

I wonder if Cardiff will get the same treatment as us though. Couldn’t get a drink anywhere in Cardiff for the return fixture. Wouldn’t let us in any pubs, anywhere.

Had to wait for the concourse to open, on a Sunday morning, for a pint.

Took the excitement out of the day. No doubt Cardiff will be allowed anywhere in our fine City.

There has been a significant history as you say but a lot of those involved previously are about 50 years old now, not sure if the new generation have the same hunger for such shananigans with jail time very likely these days.  In saying that I sure we both still have a few plums amongst us. Some great boozers in Bristol that I’ve spent a lot of time I over the years.

You are referring a lot to many years ago, there are not problems in this fixture like there once was.

Who is to say 2,000 Cardiff fans are likely to cause anymore problems then the 3,000 WBA coming to Bristol in a few weeks?

A police force should be able to control these kind of numbers nowadays

If you arrive by train Independently what do the plod usually do with you in Bristol these days? Let you go wherever? Or shepherd you off to a pub you don’t really want to go to?  I’m pretty sure we don’t have an active hooligan following anymore, ie like 200 or so who would go looking for trouble on arrival. Don’t get me wrong I’m sure we both have plenty of livelies but reckon they are too old and have too much to lose these days to cause Agro.

Give me a nice quiet pint in the prince of Wales, Highbury vaults, Cadbury house, the bell, the Clyde, the white bear, the New England.....allday long?

If your'e travelling by train may I suggest booking soon. I am travelling from further afield than Cardiff (travelling through Cardiff aprox 0920)on GWR and have just paid £22 return to Temple Meads. Won't be that price for long.

The secret for Cardiff fans though is to buy "Groupsaver" tickets you need a minimum of three travelling together

Ticket for a day return is then £9.45 EACH !

They can be bought in advance or on the day of the game

Why not add a bit of surprise to the day and get returns to Parson Street ! (same cost)

You’d be fine in any of those - none of them are anywhere near the ground (but then I’m assuming you are aware of that given your name).

No idea what the police do at the moment. Last time v Swansea there were quite a few in and around the waterfront pubs early lunchtime and then a police escort from temple meads as well I believe ‘picking up’ on their way through.
