Cold and Wet in Huddersfield - Match Day Thread 35

Sitting at home watching this in the warm was dire. How bad must it have been for those, at the match, in the cold?

My thoughts exactly. Fair play to them.

you reap what you sow, and like it or lump it lee johnson is lacking in the top end championship manager department.

no fan in thier right mind can defend his tactics, starting lineups, substitutions or midgame managment

he divides this club like no other manager i can remember in my 40 odd years following the city, time to change irrelevent of result tonight.

THE FOOTBALL IS SHOCKING

It’s been crap and no I can’t and won’t defend it.

I hope LJ can come up with master plan at ht.....

If he could, why didn't he apply it before kickoff?

That has to be the worst half of football since watching O'Dismal's team.

He isn't going to get sacked anytime soon, but it's almost like he's bored and wants to see how bad he can make us play before getting his severance pay.

People have been sacked for having teams playing better than this!

Diedhou hits the post.....I wouldn’t have even celebrated tbh.

A couple of goals at Ashton Gate this season I could only be half arsed to celebrate as we just don’t seem to deserve it half the time.

I don’t get into LJ bashing etc but this football team is diabolical to watch, and that’s not just us having too high expectations. You hear it from opposition fans every week about how bad we look.

We’re making them look good . Must be 70 yards between the back 4 and strikers . The amount of space for them to run into is a ******* joke

Smith Rowe and Grant are some players though

He had every opportunity to watch our previous matches on video. We've been unable to pass at home for a long time.

Hes pretending if he didn't know.

Definatly but i still feel bad for the guy. Poacher like him with play like this around him.

The line up is shit, some called it and were correct. Bingo Ball Selection at its very finest😂

Anyone could see it wasn't going to work. But it sounds like the players individually have been dire too

That last sentence is ridiculously spot on.

Christ it's a hard listen on Hesgoal (when it works) the two blokes commentating are so biased towards Huddersfield it's embarrassing everything they do is amazing fantastic and they are going to score every time they go forward we have been bad but you would think they were world beaters to listen to those two.

That was utterly woeful.

I thought we signed Nahki Wells to score goals, the lad has being playing in midfield, just like Saturday, trying to get the ball.

Tombola in full effect tonight, the bloke is clueless.

Certainly a contender for the worst half of the season.

The only positives being it’s only one nil and the travelling fans.

Huddersfield by far the better team, assisted by our woeful passing and lack of movement.

Other than Fammy hitting the post we have created absolutely nothing.

Any neutral watching this would likely think Huddersfield were sniffing a play-off place, we were down the bottom and tbh any neutral would also probably say the Terriers should be two or three up.

Most important half time team talk of the season so far. Needs to make some bold changes.

We won’t win if we don’t create so bring on our most creative players Palmer and Eliasson and go for it.

Shocking.

Don't even know where to start with that first half performance.

Feels like a watershed moment for LJ tonight - it's a massive second half for the confidence all round, top to bottom.

Need a huge turn around, but don't see it happening tonight.

Really very poor and running out of excuses, when we should be hitting full speed for the run in.

How long would Pat Lam last if his team were so powder-puff?

I can't imagine the players would dare let him down like they do Johnson. But then again Lam has an identify and system the players understand and train at during the week. Plus a vision of where the club are heading. Johnson changes tactics and players so often I doubt they have a clue what they are supposed to be doing as clearly Johnson doesn't.

Something is seriously wrong at the moment. That was absolutely the most appalling 53 minutes of football I have watched in a long time. How much of this does SL think is acceptable?

Might be the worst performance so far this season which is some achievement

I've tried to look for positives in a lot of our games this season but I can't defend that at all. Fortunately Huddersfield aren't much better otherwise we'd be 5 down.

To be fair if i had to describe this game it would probably sound something like that

This really is pathetic we look totally outclassed and unfit there's no tactics we seem to be trying to play rough tonight hence 8 mins of extra time we have lost the ability to attack. With PNE and Brentford losing we ought to be taking advantage of that but no same old City :( I'm afraid there will still be people supporting LJ but they must start to realise its time for him to go

To many - that will help excuse this performance

I think I've got the hang of it. It's a crazy league, anyone can beat anyone.

Is that right?

We don’t look interested in this at all. Strolling around, kicking balls long to anywhere, no movement, no plan?

What are we doing in training, seriously?

Genuine question.

If you gave Neil Warnock this squad, who would be pick, how would he set them up and how would we do, do you reckon?

Warnock is just an example (albeit a controversial one) but can’t help but feel this squad as it stands really ought to be capable of better.

If warnock had come in 3 weeks ago we’d have a chance of automatic promotion IMO. We’d have gave Leeds and West Brom a real good go, that’s for sure.

that said, I wasn’t saying I wanted him because it wasn’t realistically going to happen and I wouldn’t want him long term, but hypothetically speaking I think this squad from this position gets promoted or at least a good crack at the playoffs with him.

I have to say it and know I will get lots of stick for saying it but if that first half is not enough to convince us the players are not playing for the manager then I don't know what is...

Well Huddersfield have played some lovely stuff...entertaining...ripping us apart, sadly. On this showing they won't be struggling for much longer...you might even back them to finish above us. They have an excellent management team with a proven track record of success. I'd certainly like to watch us playing with the attacking flair they've shown in that first half...

by contrast you'd assume we were relegation candidates...not a side with the incentive of play off places beckoning.

We look devoid of confidence.

Wells at the end seemed in disbelief by his body language. Truly shocking half must say.

Wow. Shambles. We really are plumbing the depths, and then some. Can't think of a worse performance than that in over 50 years following this Club.

We are utterly clueless. Only Bents and Baker look remotely interested. Pathetic.

I've seen better performances than that on the Downs League 4.

Now then. A massive, massive second half required. Time for a reaction.

1-0 down and were lucky to have the Nil.

I've watched some shit over the years but 45mins may have been the worst if the lot. Utterly inexcusable performance

I’ve worked it out. The problem all along has been our fans. Why don’t we all get behind Lee Johnson and cheer everything wildly in a positive manner? Happy clappy
