Current odds are 23/10 for it to be Canceled and 4/11 for it to go ahead ...

would me a real shame if it were to be called off

in fairness some things are more important than a race meeting.

If people's lives are seriously at risk then there is no decision to be made

Over 83k cases globally

Less than 3k deaths. The zombie apocalypse it ain't.

Normal flu killing far more.

Stop panicking

Certainly not panicking but as we have already seen with the Ireland rugby being postponed, organisations will err massively on the side of caution

I see today there is a case of a dog catching it, if there is any chance that a horse could catch it there is not a chance in hell the breeders will be taking their stables to Cheltenham

But it’s perfectly ok for 20-25000 to gather on College green today to listen to a 17 year old and turn it into a quagmire which is going to cost thousands to put right (Tax payers money) whilst causing massive traffic disruption not to mention idling engines adding to the very problem she’s spouting on about!!! ..only in Bristol...

It's not as simple as that though.

That's a 3.6% death rate. Though I believe the current figure is more like 1.3%.

I believe seasonal infuenza stands at 0.1%.

As the transmission process is the same, I'd sugest Coronavirus could potentially kill a lot more than the flu.

I think I read the issue is scientists know a lot more about Flu and there’s vaccines etc. Also it can take up to 14 days to show symptoms but still pass it on, in that time you could have come into contact with hundreds or thousands of people especially at a festival or large sporting event

Is it me or is it the most underwhelming festival for some time.nothing really worth backing tomorrow and the gold cups not getting me excited.

I would go the opposite.  Think it’s a fantastic line up this week.  Depends what you like I guess. Tuesday is the worst day though. If Maire Banrigh wins I will be taking Wednesday off with a hangover!

I'm going Thursday and Friday. Got about £600 I'm prepared to lose so spreading it about £150 each day, if I don't win a penny then that'll be that. Made the mistake before it getting out of hand.

All aboard Asterion in the first.

I was going to ask what you are going to do with the other £300

But from experience of Cheltenham prices and the nightlife after, I can see that is a sensible amount
