Just watching FA cup and they mentioned the crammed fixture list.

years ago:

Old div 1 42 games , all league and FA cup would keep replaying until  a winner. European and UEFA cups always existed

All games played no matter the weather or pitch conditions.

players tackles like no tomorrow

Where are the extra games?

The European cups were knockouts not a league formats and no international breaks wasting 4 weekends in the season

And how many of the premier league involved in those European cups?

They only play 38 games in the league, they cant all be playing 50 plus games! As a result every other team has to play 46 games, how would the super primadonnas in the premier league cope with that?

can remember some fa cup ties going to a 5th replay.....

I just dont get where the extra games are for any of the teams but just put top 4 to one side the other 16 teams definitely have less than yrs ago.

And Forest can't even beat an awful Boro. The Ho. E side hasnt won this year, has a poor manager and a great owner. Imagine the wrath of this forum had a team like that to deal with!

No team seems to want that P.O place and Forest have got some really tough games, like on Sunday 22nd. Come on City!

Could be that pitches are so much better these days not much water logging or mud baths anymore

And it’s been a very mild winter. Not been much call for games to be postponed. Either because of the pitch, or for public safety reasons.
