So LJ has left Henrikson out of the squad completely despite Nagy apparently not being available, opting for two centre backs on the bench instead. What did he do that was so wrong? Is he injured? I know he wasn’t great against Huddersfield but frankly nor was anyone.

Really good point this, is definitely an odd one - I'm not really sure what LJ was expecting - the guy was bound to be rusty after not playing all season - personally would much rather we brought Morrell or Walsh back and played them on the back of their good form - once again LJ seemingly blocking the 'pathway' for our youngsters for minimal gain

I dont really see henrikson getting much game time between now and the end of the season, kinda like that swedish centre back ekstrand a few seasons ago. I hope he isnt costing much in wages.

He was left out due to contract issues. Basically if he played more games it would trigger a new deal. Hull decided they don't want or can't afford him.

Baffles me this argument, when there have been so many examples to prove that not getting into one team doesn’t really matter

The bloke wouldn't sign a contract so they sent him to train on his own. It's hardly the case he was not wanted, he just pissed them off. However all those months out are not helpful. He played well in his first game but adrenaline never lasts

My thinking is that he didn't much like LJ criticising him in a post match interview (ie in public), let LJ know it, and .... well here we are.

Was really excited about signing the bloke, his physicality, ability, a leader and captain material etc etc   and now this.

Oh shit!

On the flip side and reading some of the veiled digs on here, apart from his debut  he simply hasn't performed as yet and has been disappointing. He hasn't played much this season, is an International  and played in the Premier League with Hull so he has a lot of top experience so it's only natural to think he would hit the ground running. He could be a really good player with us.

But I can understand of course that makes it Lee Johnson's fault.

Listening to some on here I wouldn't be surprised if the bad weather is Lee Johnson's fault as well as his little "bounce around" dance could be a rain dance in disguise.

My beans on toast was cold this morning and I just know that was Lee Johnson's falt as well.

Was complete sense to bring one of the two back...

And as for shipping Moore out to Blackpool and bringing in Benkovic???.. completely illogical.

Did LJ really say "dropped, not good enough recently" because that is seriously not going to help anyone who has recently joined a football club.

Someone please tell me he didn't actually say it in this way.

He may or may not have said this.  If he did, there may have been a very good reason for it, for instance, to challenge Henriksen to take thing seriously and to work  a damn sight harder.  There are times when you have to call players out if they are not delivering, and don’t forget that Henriksen is a loan player who fell out with his previous club.  Sounds to me like he needs a solid kick up the whatsit, which maybe is what Lee his trying to give him.

Could he do this away from the radio? I think so, but let's agree to disagree then.

PS lots of footballers fall out over contracts, hardly a massive minus against the guy.

Agree. I’ve just listened to the full interview on on the following link and not as bad as Gregor paraphrased. Yes LJ said he was disappointing v Huddersfield but he also said he’s still an important part of the squad and had been excellent in training this week - he also explained why he and Rowe didn’t make the bench.

Yes totally illogical to bring in an international tall midfielder who captained his club in the prem and a tall ball playing defender transferred to a prem club for 12 million, can't possible see what they thought they might be bringing in.

Of course a gamble due to game time but most at the time were creaming themselves over the transfer window.

No. Henriksen had a good debut against Derby and started the subsequent fixtures against Leeds, West Brom and Huddersfield when his form deteriorated badly. However, Henriksen hadn't  played ANY Championship football this season before the game against the Rams. His previous competitive outing coming 80 days prior for Norway in the Euro qualifiers; a fifth international start in 2019/20. It's no surprise to me that Markus looks rusty and off the pace, because that's exactly what he is. What bright spark expected an unfit player to solve our central midfield crisis?

Great work behind the scenes at the club then, if we're giving up on the bloke already. Less than 5 games, you gotta laugh or it'd drive you mad.

Blackburn away next week. If we lose (and there's every chance), he's probably back next home game. We have NOT seen the last of him, I promise you.

I still think he is the physical presence we are lacking in midfield actually. Give the bloke a chance ffs.

Headline slightly sensationalised by the evening post, but I’ve noticed a new trend by them to take a leaf out of the sun/mail approach to click baiting these days.....find out what is annoying the fans and go feed it....

Anyway, that’s a pretty honest and clear assessment by LJ in my opinion - one swallow does not a summer bring and after that Derby game you can’t argue he didn’t deserve dropping and the shirt has to be earned.

I’d argue that discipline is done behind doors, but with social media these days it must be virtually impossible, rumours and conjecture, it forces the club to come out and explain things and in turn they’re criticised for that. Fans equally don’t like a wall of silence.

Cases up to 209 in the UK. Johnson, ffs Not a clue in how to set up a defence. The hanky and the sanitiser gel were just SHIT measures so just own up to it for once.

New manager / coach needed. What's Corbyn up to these days?

oops soz, wrong Johnson.

We really needed to bring a Central Midfielder on today to take off Massengo who was to lightweight and a liability at times did our bench really need 2 centre backs, right back and an attacking midfielder who sits on the bench to make up the numbers?

looks like another poor signing from Johnson. surely if you get a new signing he has to be better than what we have. we could have saved money and brought joe or Liam back in jan. steve lansdown must be thinking the same .

Funny, I thought Massengo had his best game for ages. Really got stuck in, and never looked lightweight today!

Agree he did seem to become less involved as the second half went on though.

I only watched on TV but the number of times he lost the ball was winding me right up. I think he has ability but too often got eased off the ball yesterday. Either that or he took too long deciding what to do and got caught on the ball and lost it.

Walsh had another assist for Coventry yesterday, but LJ clearly has an aversion to playing 3 in CM so can't see how Walsh would fit in, just like Palmer does not. Such a waste on both counts.

Gregor has very deliberately put the words 'Wasn't good enough recently' within speech marks, so yes, it must be assumed to be a direct quote.

I think the plan will be to play Walsh a lot next season. To play 3 midfielders, but also keep a 2 man strike force, LJ will have to go back to 352.

We saw how well it worked at the start of the season. Only changed from it because of Afobe injury.

I imagine Walsh could slot nicely into that system next season.
