That’s what will happen mate, this virus will be around for a few months yet so no chance this season being continued,on the bright side Leeds will still not get promoted

My Leeds mate thinks they are screwed with FFP if they dont go up this year so will be interesting to see how these things come into the equation if the season doesn't go ahead

So many things will have to be though through if this season becomes ‘void’.

At the moment, although we are in uncharted territory, this looks likely.

Its far from the most important consideration right now.

Report in the Telegraph which suggests if season is cancelled West Brom & Leeds prompted no play offs and a 22 team premier league next season with five relegation spots

All premature, don’t even know when next season will start.

In the 62-63 season, clubs, dependent on their geographic location, had an enforced break of at least six weeks. The final game was played on 21st May.

The Walsll v Charlton game that day was abandoned at HT (0-0) due to a thunderstorm making the pitch unemployable. That result relegated Walsall, a win would have kept them up and relegated Charlton instead. The game could not be replayed as "The season is over".

There is therefore a precedent for finishing on a set day.

Think we can all see that this virus situation is not about to clear up anytime soon! They just need to declare the season over - top 3 go up - bottom 4 go down. We all move on and football starts again in August!!

Some teams have played a game less

I wonder if they'd be saying the same thing if it were Bristol City and Brentford who were the top 2 of the Championship?

In theory, that would have to be absolutely brilliant for us.

Unfortunate for Liverpool and all the other potential champions of each League but if as projected the virus will still be around until at least the autumn (and therefore well into the next season dates) the only fair way is to declare the season null and void. That avoids all the "ifs, buts and maybes".
