Melbourne has a huge number of British town and city names in its suburbs, presumably every person who went to live out there took his town's name with him
Newport
Tottenham
Blackburn
Burnley
Preston

and there's Liverpool near Sydney.

And Launceston

I was talking to some builders who were working in Launceston (Cornwall) a couple of years back. Their boss had booked their digs for the duration but when they got to site, no-one had ever heard of the address or even the road it was supposed to be in.

It turned out he`d booked them into a B&B in Launceston, Tasmania!
