At the time of his injury Super Bob had scored 27 in 37 League games. 34 in all competitions, including 5 goals in 7 FA Cup games.

Not sure how many games he had missed up til then, or exactly how many to go, but with the form he was in he must have been on course to challenge Don Clark's all time City record of 36 in 46-47.

In fact he may have only been a few away because it's not clear if Clark's total is League goals only or all competitions.

No doubt at all that hamstring injury cost us the title.

From memory, Super Bob got sent off away at Tranmere so would have missed at least 1 game with suspension.

remember we had Iain Ferguson and Andy Jones on loan during that season - was that to cover for Super Bob or Robbie Turner?
